Burning Oil!!!!

had a meet last night and my peeps told me they smelled burning oil from my catless exhaust.:bann: so i went the dealership today for an oil change whatnot and my mech. noticed i was over half a quart low.:crutch:he said most likely they will replacing valve seals first and then maybe the motor. thank god im still under factory warranty; 06' with 25k miles.

bad part is.....i gotta go to the keys next week and the round trip will be around 800 miles.

Think i will be ok? i put in crap oil instead of my normal mobil 1 oil cuz he said its pointless when they have to tear apart the motor when i get back.
i just dont wanna break down outa town.

his recommendation was not to beat on the car too much cuz i might pull the seals out and really be smoking.

Damn, that sucks! I think you'd be ok though, just take it easy like they said...

hope its just the seals and not the rings or something. only 25k in 2 1/2 years, but they have been hard miles.

just talked to my mechanic and he said i should pull the head off my spare motor and do a stage3 port n polish and he'll switch the head while he's in there.

Hope you get this figured out. But for your trip, if you can get a rental car.

i think i might take the risk and drive it down to the keys. it runs ok and doesnt seem to be stubbling any so i think the hwy drive wont be too bad. <crosses fingers.
