Today i came home after working on my ride for like 7 hours and well not so good stuff happend.
Heres the deal i got out of my car after a 30 minute drive and it smelt like something was burning, now i started wigging out, checked everything and when i felt my rear driverside rim it was so hot it burned me...
WHAT COULD CAUSE THIS... SOMEONE PLEASE HELP.... I DRIVE A FIRST GEN XB

Sounds like a dumb question I know.....but was there any chance your e-brake was engaged at all on the ride home???? If not, once it cools down..or in the morning when you check it out again...pull off that wheel and knock the drum off to see if for some reason the brakes were dragging at all. First thing that comes to my mind anyway.

That is a very good possibility, i had the car completely gutted and had people up in the front messin with stuff.
THANK YOU. God i hope that is what it is...... I can live with a burned out ebrake, not so much a burned out rearend.
I know a lil about suspension, but only air suspension. and nothing about brakes.

Good thing is, if it is a problem in the rear somewhere, the rear "axle" is just a rolling axle. Its really not an axle at all since the B is front wheel drive. But yea, I agree, first check the E brake, if not knock off the drum and inspect that...if you dont know what your looking at, it may be a good idea to get a brake inspection from a local shop...most are free.
Lastly, IMO, worst case senario...it could be a worn wheel bearing...but even still...not that big of a deal if you need to replace it. Let us know!

thanks for the quick replys i was wiggin
something got caught so the e brake lever wouldn't fully release and i thought it had, not enough to notice in 10 feet but could smell the difference after a 30 min ride..
Thank god i didn't brake something AGAIN.....
