if you have to ask you probably cant do it. its going to cost a lot. you will need the new motor, harness, computer, etc, or someone who will take on the task for you and a deep ass wallet. also try to use the search function on here and on google. ittl save you a lot of time and hassle with some of the guys around here

I have done several motor swaps with honda's but this would be my first toyota, so I can do it. I just wanted to know if anyone on here has done it, so I might get some tips. It won't cost too much. I already found a totaled one near me that was rear ended and I could probably buy the whole car pretty cheap. So if anyone had any tips, please help me out

Very few swaps have been completed on these cars... Completely different ball game then playing with Honda swaps. Good luck and I hope you have tons of time and DEEP pockets.

Just put a super charger or turbo on cheaper than a swap by miles

Yeah, but not near the horsepower that can be reached with the gen2. The superchargers and turbos for the gen1 only have gains of about 75hp and I have an automatic which doesn't really help matters either

almost all forced induction that ive seen for these only add like 30hp. i have also done several honda swaps in the past and currently doing a jdm h22 into a 93 accord. this isnt your typical fanboy type vehicle though. almost all the honda 4cyl motors have pretty much the same mounting positions. the swap would be a lot harder than ordering some motor mounts from hasport. the trannys are different, the comps are different the engine size is different and the whole thing is easily as hard as swapping in a 2jz or something of the like. if your gonna do it dont puss out and do a 2.4 or whatever is in the gen two or do puss out and go get a 2nd gen and call it a day.

It's been done, you're just looking at the wrong sites for this kind of thing. The echo/yaris are extremely similar chassis. Check out yarisworld, there's a few threads detailing swaps. I'm not sure why the scion folk haven't caught on.

We need to look into that oil burn option. Any answers as to when we'll start seeing them?
