I know some stations around here still say they sell only gasoline that is not an E10 mix. My vehicle is not setup for flex fuel so I was wondering is their any benefit to running the pure gasoline vs just using the E10 most stations around here sell?

Flex Fuel vehicles are able to tell if the fuel coming in is gas or e85 and can adjust accordingly. I'm pretty sure all gasoline is required to contain 10% ethanol.

I think they may be required to offer an e10 (89 octane) mix, but 87 octane regular unleaded is also available at almost every gas station. 87 seems to go just a little further on road trips, but is more expensive than 89. I just stick with 89 because it is cheaper and the ethanol has cleaning properties as well as being burning more completely and cooler.

Flex fuel vehicles can use 87, 89, 91, or 105 (e85). 89 octane gas is not flex fuel, so use it all you want!

I am not sure if all gas has ethanol in it. Technically you should get better MPG with 100% gas then the E10 because ethanol contains less energy per gallon.

There have been some stores around my area that have 100% gas not the mix. mainly for boaters but some stores have it in the car pumps also

Yea there is a 76 here that has 100% gas. I filled up awhile back there and ended up getting 2-3 extra mpg. But a few days after there prices went up 10 cent more than others so I didn't go back. I pass by there every day on my way home from work but there still a little pricy.
