I just bought a second hand TRD intake and the filter looks a little old and might be messed up. I am not sure what a bad filter would look like though. Going to take it to auto zone for a second look. My question is, whats a good replacement, just in case, for the filter, brand wise, and where can i get a water shield?

Ok, not being a jerk. But were talking about a filter, not some complicated mechanical part. If it looks like shit, replace it. That doesn't require a second opinion. And a water shield, do some leg work...most filter companies offer one. Apexi makes one, blitz, greddy and so on. And unless your filter is dragging the ground you really don't need one.

Dont want it waterlogged is all. So brand doesn't matter on the intake filter on a CAI? ok got it, I'll just go grab one then. Thanks.

Don't get to hung up on brands. But don't go to autozone and buy a Specter air filter either. Use K/N if your in a pinch. They sell those at most auto stores. Just be sure you get the right diameter. And if your filter is not by your front wheel you shouldn't need a water cover.

Thanks. This is a tc so its gonna be beside the wheel behind the fender as well >.< Ill see if it is salvageable and if not, Ill grab a K/N and roll with it.
