Today starts a day of new endevour and uncharted waters. I have been contacted by Junichi who is the owner of a JDM company known as JUN performance. They manufacture 3 different types of cams for the 1NZ-FE. He has seen my motor build and would like or should I say is sponsoring me a set of turbo cams for my XB. These are not regrinds and are made for our motors. In addition to these new cams Jon Ferrea is supplying a entire valve train for these new cams which will include new valves, springs, lockers and retainers. Scion has supplied me a new head and ARP is supplying head studs. The head it self will be machined at AEBS in Ca. Will also be making the compression 9:1 instead of 9.5:1 like it is now. The head will be assembled at Bragdon Racing "my engine builder". This is all very exciting for this will be the first true fully built race head for this motor. No regrinds no OEM parts. This will open the door for a lot of others that want a real horse power gaining head. Keep in mind most of this is sponsored to me and I'm absorbing very little of the cost. So before you start to ask about the cost of all the parts here you go: cams 1,600.00 USD. Complete valve train: 1,659.00 AEBS head work: 1,000.00 new head : 450.00 Assembly and bench flow: 800.00. Not for the budget minded but will out last and perform a head from Gude any day of the week. I will post pics as things take shape. Expect this to take about 4 months. Finally real parts for real power. Will crank the boost to 30 PSI. And continue to run 107 Torco fuel and methanol. Wish me luck, here we go!
