I have been watching youtube videos on how to do this but there are so many different ways to do it.

Does anyone have a clue on the best way to do this?

yup! the only proven method is to take your time. all other things can be made decent by taking time. also trial and error. your going to want to sand well and clean well so get that down first if you arent any good at it. or just get them powder coated.

Use the Index Card trick (assuming your using the ones your rolling on) and place the cards between the lip and tire to make a nice neat seal so you dont get any unwanted chemicals and paint on your wheels. Get some basic degreaser compound and spray the wheels down. Clean the Degreaser off and then use some medium scuffing pads and scuff the tar out of the wheel. Use a soapy water mix to clean the dust off the wheels. Pick out your color of choice and give it some time with your painting.... Personally I prefer the Caliper paint because its a bit tougher and has a few more color options than wheel paint. Also multiple coats helps with durability...
