Anyone know a good brand of tires i can get for my 07 tc, Im probably going to order some Konig Unknown rims but they have a package where they come with Nexen 5000 tires the rims wheel locks a 2 year warranty all for $1300 are nexen tires any good? This is for 18'' rims with tires. Or should i stick with the 17" that package goes for $1100?

any help would be appreciated thanks

Never heard of Nexen. I know the best tires i have are Nitto. Nitto's are great tires just do go cheap on them. I have the Nitto Z's and my friend Stu_Gotti has the Nitto 555's and they are perfect tires. Bf Goodwrench makes a great tire to. I am not to found of anything that Bridgestone or Firestone makes. They are shitty. The Potenza's that they put on stock tC wheels are horrible. Mine lasted like almost a year and thats all she wrote.

I heard some people say that they weren't that great. If you buy the more expensive ones maybe. But one of my buddies said he had pirelli's on his stock wheels when he bought his and they sucked to. Scion must put shitty wheels on them to start off with.

Never had any problems with mine and they were on the car for 2 years before I changed them. Had a split in one where I rubbed a storm drain that didn't get any worse. Dunno if that helps but there ya go :???:

the yokohoma tires suck plus they are 200 a tire, i run hankook ventus hri, great tires, i got like 2 1/2 years out of them and thats commuting 120 miles every day, btw i have a set of used konig unknons for sale 600, for a 5 rim set no tires

Nexen are cheap tires.

Are you looking to run those 18's all year or just summertime only?

I'd look into getting the Falken Ziex Ze 912s

NITTO!! ive used both neo gen and 555 line and both are great tires, but i think the neo gens wear a little faster.

i just put BF Goodrich G Force KDW2s on my scion with the stock rims and i love them and your from the same area and you know how the rain is. their an exotic tread and their absolutely awesome in the rain. i recommend them to any one. their about 160 to 180 a piece

Falken Ziex Ze 912's are good all-season tires. They'll be ok in the snow too. Of course they're not snow tires but they're decent.

depending on my next paycheck im either getting yokohama w4s's or sdrive's unless its kinda low in which case ill go with some sumitomo htr z3's.

The stock yokos that come on the tc are pretty good when theyre new, but once they wear down they absolutely suck. plus theyre expensive as hell.

Check out the tire reviews on tirerack.com. they should help wiht your decision.

When I had stock tires I spun out, I then got the Nexen N3000 tires and I love them. I do admit they are cheaply priced compared to other brands, but I've had no problems with them. I've done I think 2 road trips to jersey from Virginia and back and no problems what so ever. The N3000 are directional and are really good in wet weather. The whole way up to jersey my second time it was raining hard. I had a packed car and they grab really good in both dry and wet weather. Before the stock tires you can easily spin tires if you miss a shift or over rev it. I can barely make them spin if I'm not trying to do it on purpose, but even when you high rev on the N3000 and try to do a burn out or whatever you call it, they regain traction fast enough for my liking.

I don't push my car super hard, but they do grab well in turns too. I have maybe a bit over 5k on them and tread life is still good too

Pretty much you're probably going to get mixed reviews on every tire. Some people like that certain tire while other's don't.

the stock tires don't do so great here on the island... i have an 06 scion tc and had to replace the stock tires a year later. i ended up getting nexen and they are still very much in shape!

I put 225/40/18 Nexen N7000 on our tC. So far so good. They do follow the lines in the freeway a bit though.

just imo. i work for a tire shop. The best bang for your buck is going to be the bfg g force sport or the kdw2... but as far as yokahama's the s drive would definately be excellent.

Wait when you mean they follow the lines is that a bad thing?

As far as tires it's what you like and what you grown into liking. Some may say that Nexen is cheap, I myself prefer them so far. The tread life is good and they grab which is my preference. Others prefer Yokohama's or Falken's while other people who have used those tires say the tread life isn't that great. Now given I haven't had to use my tires in snow yet I won't say they are for all season, but they hold their own in both the wet and dry.

my stock potenzas lasted a LONG time. i had them for almost 2 years (about 35k miles) and they still had plenty of tread left. but I hated them because I couldn't give it any gas on wet roads or else they woud just spin. then I decided to spend a little more and get the nitto 555s for my 18s and what a night and day difference. even though they were a thinner, wider tire, they gave a much softer ride and were 10x quieter! i never new the stock tires were so harsh riding and noisey...all I can say is when it comes to tires, don't take the cheap route. you'll regret it.

I have to get new tires relatively soon. My tread is about worn. I'm still rolling stock and come 25 more days, they will have been 3 years old and gone nearly 30k miles. So yeah, hold up pretty darn well!!!

So, in my case, I should get Nitto? I don't have a deep pocket so I just need something that will last as long as the stocks did, ya know?

i like my khumos ASX.
hate the stock potenzas they used to use, mine are still on my stock wheels, use them only during winter.
