View Full Version : The Build of x13Bravo
x13bravo

This is the new project. codenamed: x13bravo.
concept semi-covert tactical vehicle. (Think of a super villain car for the inside)
So far mods are as such:
Custom Crash bars front and back with spikes.
Your mission should you choose to accept it, is to help me brainstorm for what would make a most menacing xb. How would you turn a 2011 xb into a supervillain's car?

So far what I've come up with is something involving the FLIR system. However I want the display to reflect off of the windshield so that you can still drive somewhat normally.
FLIR
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joIJOrZWyRc
Next idea was a drop hole in the passenger side floorboard. Next idea was a container tucked under the back fender containing thousands of Ball bearings.
Obviously these concepts are illegal and one should not do these but the brainstorming went on.
I am also looking for devil eyes for the headlights and found two companies.

I am also looking to get a cargo basket for the roof. I cannot discover anywhere what roof basket will fit on the 2011. if anyone knows let me know how to order it.

That FLIR kit is nice, but don't see it being worth the money.
And that glow kit can be achieved with using LED's from Oznium for way less than that price.
Other than that, I like the front push bar. You have pics of the rear one?

I ordered spikes for the back ones, they still haven't come in the mail when they are installed I will def have pics up. It took me a while to decide on which type of spikes to go there

I like the Flir camera, but would not spend over 2K on it.

Well that's where I'm at also. I don't want to use their monitors either. So I'm attempting to find something similar but much cheaper and something that I can work with.

Yeah I found spikes for the back and they came in the mail, but now I have to find screws that will actually fit them that are about an 1/2 inch longer.

Great Freaking Site man!!! Thanks I'm definitely doing http://www.thehoffmangroup.com/autoloc/product.lasso?prodinc=hiddenlicense Now I just have to figure out how and where to put it on a xb. I guess it will be easier once I lift the car.

I like the concept of the smoke screen however I was looking into fog machines pumping into the underside of the car that disperses it throughout the length of the car. two fog machines one for each side.

So I decided I wanted a clear cut idea of who was in charge once they got in the xb. I was and am a little worried about reupholstering the seats with the built in airbags, So I needed to find an alternate route to go to give it some "personality"

where in the world did you find that crash bar!?!?! I have been trying to find something like that for the longest time. I have resorted to the super idea of making a bumper cap like this http://www.fastscions.com/carbon-fiber-front-bumper-cap-scion-xb-2008-2010-xb2.aspx out of steel sheet metal and puting five to seven 3"-5" spikes on it. but i asked my Street Rod teacher if it was possible to make complete cones out of sheet metal with a slip roller and he said no, and that in order to do that i would have to make the top of the cone myself. :( boooo.
I'm still making several of these bumper caps though...
x13bravo
04-26-2011, 10:30 PM
Well first off let me tell you, those bumper caps don't do shit. I mean they are all for looks, And What you could do if you have access to a shop and what I would of done if I had access to a shop would take off the front bumper and make a boxy one out of sheet metal or diamond plate. Make something that would look more like it would be on a truck, Or you could pop out the tow caps and work something rigged into there. I got my stuff done at Broadfeet in Brooklyn NY. They have a bracket kit for the back now but the front bars are all mine. If you ever wanna brain storm I'm always down to think about crazy shit. I would actually take more time if I wasn't in the middle of eating dinner with my woman. Maybe tomorrow I'll figure something out for you.

Measure out the where everything goes and make something like this (google : metal truck bumpers; for some reason I couldn't put those pics on this post) and you'll get the idea. you won't need spikes if you have something like that.

I was thinking of doing something along the lines of replacing the front bumper with something similar to that. i just was thinking that i wouldn't be able to make all of the bends and curves to map out the entire front bumper and make it out of metal. I never even thought about making one that looks Different. hmmm, think of that. I really like this http://www.truckinweb.com/webonly/0911trweb_2009_sema_show_dan_ward/photo_270.html that bumper is just so damn clean. I love the guard on the City Safari one. http://amansworldonline.com/wp-content/gallery/scion-xb-l-con-city-safari-pick-up/scion-xb-l-con-city-safari-pick-up.jpg the paint actually inspired my interior color.

04-27-2011, 09:20 PM
Yeah the city safari one inspired me too. I'm also going to put a cannon and KC style lights on the roof of mine. As far as the other one that isn't how they made that one they used rod piping either hand rolled or using an English wheel and they welded the forms to the car then fiberglass or rosined the car to fill it out possibly using bits of a body kit or front fender from one. You can tell that it wasn't just a body kit though ( it stands out that it connects to above the fender flares.

Las car? I was looking for something similar, however knowing me I don't worry about legal ramifications. I'll deal with that when it comes to it. If you would want to brainstorm about how to install it I would appreciate it.

the light bar on the roof i love. You should put some lights behind your grille though (more low profile). and I do have an English wheel handy and I have a bunch of Chrome-moly tubing. I don't really need a widebody kit though. I'm going for a more classic/ contemporary/ fusion style. taking things I like and jamming them together. Like, Lowering springs, Chalkboard painted hood, and Smoothie moon hubcaps and whitewalls. out of context they make no sense at all, but it's gonna go together.
I do like the idea of the metal bumper though. I'll talk to one of the guys in Chassis Fab about making one for me. They owe me a favor.

i thought about chopping it. I'd have to brace the roof up and get new glass. all i'm really freakin' about is the glass. The rear window glass wouldn't be too hard to do (just get a piece from an old truck). My B is a daily driver unlike this https://www.japanesesportcars.com/2008-custom-scion-xb-raging-bull_6386.html which is straight show and hardly driven. it's probably rolled onto the trailer and rolled off.

WOW... AWESOME!! you need to look at http://oraclelights.com/ for your devil eyes... they can do ANYTHING!!! I saw their booth at SEMA this last year, and WOW!!! email Johnathan at @ jonathan@aacstyle.com tell him that I sent ya over. ;)
Black out the interior....
do the fog machine thing.. have one oulet tube behind the lower grill and another that ties in with the exhaust pipe. that would be KILLER....

Wow! great response to the chop top idea. aaaaand new thread being started. before i do. I think you should get some of those replica guns they have or replica/fantasy guns and put a hideaway tray in the back, underneath the back area above the spare tire. one that like flips up. and then have two pistols in the C-Pillar cubbies. (I thought about supervillain/spy upgrades for your B all day... and blew holes in a roll pan with a MIG welder.)
x13bravo

I already Started making the replica guns, great Idea though. I didn't have much to put up here for a while. I bought my girl a 92 civic and like I'm sure we all would do we started dreaming about what to do to it. But before that It cost me 700 in repairs and the ac still doesn't work. Fucking control arms are pricey.

So this is what I did this weekend, I shaded the tail so that it better matched my paint color. I did one light coat. At least I attempted to. all in all it seemed to come out pretty decent for a 12 can of nightshade. It will have to hold me over until I can custom some of my own taillights. Graffiti removal stuff also takes it off encase anyone was wondering or messed up and wanted to return their tail lights to the original condition.
I also got something in the mail that I'm not sure how i feel about. I ordered a hood ornament, Crosshairs to be exact and it is fucking huge. Not really sure if I even want to put that thing on there. Let me know what you think.

Yeah the raging bull kind of inspired me and made me choose the color I wanted. I wanted to go satin black from the beginning but One of my earlier cars was flat black and I got pulled over for no reason all the time. Knowing what I'm planning on doing to this car I knew I needed to somewhat blend in. I see people pass by my car all the time touching the spikes to see if they are real. My car is a daily driver also and I wouldn't have it any other way.
What does anyone think about killswitches?

Today I'm feeling like I'm missing something. I have plans for a roof rack. you know what I'm making a fucking checklist. If anyone wants to throw their two cents in please gimme a hand.
Things in the works:
Roof rack
Guns for the inside
street legal devil eyes for the headlights.
To raise the b 2-3" to compensate for the mounting bracket for the crash bars.
KC style lights for the roof. To go in front of the roof rack.
Things I'm looking for:
Rims. Ones that fit
Someone in NYC that could run an AC outlet to the trunk. Nothing says pimp like an ability that other cars don't have. the only time I saw this was in an honda element 6 years ago.
Dreams to become possibilities:
Some sort of mini-cannon looking device on the roof. Just to fuck with people.

Great Ideas. Just FYI though, 13Bravo is artillery.... You need a bigger car.. LOL. Based on all the mods you are doing some infantry MOS or something would make more sense if you want the title to really match up with what your doing with your mods.
There is nothing 'tactical' about a Howitzer.....

This is my 13th car. The x and the bravo is the xb of the car. Also many differrent nomiclatures are applied throughout different fields. I can assume you were artlilary. Also I have big plans for it. And tactical doesn't dictate size. Also I will make sure it's power is the especailly with a tundra engine. And an all wheel drive drivetran

I'd suggest getting as many killer glass parts as possible. I dont know how it would hold up to heat but what about getting the valve cover (plastic) airbrushed with something on it, maybe like a tear away with some H.R. Giger themed stuff http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rlz=&q=hr+giger&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&biw=1366&bih=643

Geiger? Meh so cliche. I don't wanna paint that. I'm. Looking for something a bit more understated. After thinking about it maybe the geiger style rib art would look good on the walls of the engine housing simple enough to paint when I do the tundra engine swap. Thanks for the idea. its weird enough and doesn't stand out so much that it overshadows everything else.

This idea is sick. Im going to still this since I have plenty of paracord lying around. Did you just drill two holes wrap it and tie it down tight? Looking good

Yeah pretty much, its all simple shit, but be carefully with the color change of your handles mine came out kind of imperfect in spots.

Im thinking of color matching the spikes on the front of my car. Does this sound fucking nuts to you? It makes me think of someone else's car and makes me wonder why.
So should i color match them? I can always take them off if need be.

So today someone stole the spikes off the front of my car. It's not that big of a deal being as that i was going to replace them. Despite that fact that i feel disrespected. Next time I will make sure they are not getting unscrewed.

So someone stole my front spikes. I decided with a little suggestion from Roxy to get gunmetal ones. So I'm going to make this fuckers impossible to steal. Next step I'm hooking a duralast up to them.

New addition, I don't know what to do with myself lately. I have so many mods bought but I haven't gotten them in yet. Had killer glass since the car was bought. At least the ball is rolling again.

Ok well I looked it up and it would not bode well. It would treat everything around me like a plasma globe. Although the idea of lightning sparking inside someones car harmlessly is awesome. It will also blow lights and fry radios. no bueno.

So we are currently working on the back bumper, we have already done some of the interior panels. We are making a boso style bumper, no reflectors no backup lights. And a boso

So me and theroxy are working on debadging the whole ride. Currently we just took out the reflectors from the back. Next week I will take off the front bumper and cut the badge from the front and fill and sand it to perfection. Also I'm looking into a boso style tail pipe. If anyone has any info let me know.
If your going for a villian, urban, destroyer machine something Ive never seen but I know you could do with a bit of money and some trial and error would be lift the xb 4,5,6 inchs and throw on some big meaty tires. Ive seen somone do it so an older Honda crv and it looked mean after. Just an idea

I have been looking to lift it for a while. All I can find is a 2inch lift via Randode. However I want more like a 4 or more inch lift.

it might be a long shot but you might be able to contact him about possibly fabricating something that will allow you to have a 4+ inch lift. may cost more and take a bit longer but i know his work is quality.

Can't because the drivetran can only go so far. More than two inches and your only causing yourself problems. I actually decided that when I put the tundra engine in I am going to have to put it on a chassy so that should be the lift I need. So before that I am taking care of all the exterior and interior that I want changed

Also if you notice in this picture I also did a reflector delete. It's a 2011 so the reflectors would (should) be on both sides. I don't like them.
