A Question About Overlays

I just bought some vinyl overlays for my turn signals on my tC... and the stuff felt like basic tint. I ripped the vinyl while installing the second turn signal... couldn't i just go buy some tint from an auto parts store.... isn't it the same stuff?

I don't know but would be interested to find out as well. I got some tint left over from doing the quarters and screwing up the side so this might be a quick easy mod.

The vinyl that is used for for overlays is a lot thicker than tint. It might work, but it won't be as durable.

i wouldn't suggest doing that at all. the tint will literally fall off under high speeds.

yah, overlay vinyl is supposed to be real thick and have strong adhesive. i put mine on the taillights and theres no way its coming off. :wink:
