Pics shortly. Waiting for my laptop to charge since I'm at work and not by a plug.

They turned out to be less stretch than I originally planned for and wanted. The federals run wide. But still a nice stretch. If I have to buy tires again I'll get something other than them. I also have a video of them getting mounted. This time he used the cheetah tank!!!

As for drop, I took them out the box and dropped them as far as they go without taking the collars out. I'll start there and raise or lower as needed.

Nice, but not as much stretch as I wanted...

Its less stretch than it should be. its very slightly more than the 205/40 nankangs i have on 9 wide...should be a good bit since the wheels are .75 wider, or at least noticeable by other than me

This is my favorite one...

they will look probably exactly like i have. Federals run wide so the 205/40s are as wide as a "normal" 215/40s...i really wish I wouldnt have gotten the federals. something that doesnt run wide would have fit better...

Here is my favorite pic of the day...

It was funny, I posted them after being mounted on Next Level's fb page and they posted back, "kids, dont try this at home." lol...I know but I was trying to get the cheapest I could find, and at the time the Federals were like $47, I think I paid like $270 shipped...

with nf's you can do an 18 no problem at all i would get lower springs or coilovers then you will just roll your fenders run a bit of negative camber and call it a day :)

its been in the works and a couple cars have successfully got it set up

really? why not

its a solid rear axle and with the rear disk brakes its hard to get the camber out of it because you have to angle the caliper too

SpeedRacer
04-26-2011, 10:30 AM
http://www.nlmotoring.com Even if you order now, with them being sold out, your looking at up to almost 2 months or more before you order. I ordered almost 3 months ago and am still waiting on mine.

After nearly 5 months of waiting, my rims ship next week. I will upload pics once I get them. So if anyone wants a set, you better place an order soon or you might be waiting for awhile. I think they are finally catching up on pre-orders.

Okay, here is the pics, specs on Rims: 18x8.75 +35 offset - Tires: Nitto Neo Gen 215/40/18. It's a small stretch but decent and they weren't that much of a pain to mount on the rim either.

Yea it's a baby stretch but the neo gens have one stiff sidewall so they don't stretch as well, it took 5 mins a tire just to get the tire on the rim and two people with numerous mounting tools haha, plus around 75-80 psi just to get the tire to pop into place. I was going to go with a smaller tire but like you said it's hard to judge with the strange sizes of these rims. So I just went with what others were going with on this size rim.

But Naw the fenders are not rolled yet, they will be as soon as I can find someone to do it. Since the rears I need since there ain't much clearance between the tire and lip and plus I want to be able to go lower in the rear. The fronts need to be rolled and pulled since I can't go any lower than what I am without cutting into the tire.

So yea, you are going to have some serious poke haha. I didn't want to poke to much, I wanted to run wider but still be able to tuck. I'm close if not 5mm from flush on the front and 5-10mm from flush on the rear.

ScIkO*FaErY
07-12-2011, 09:33 AM
Im gonna run -2/-3 camber most likely but the less I can get away with the longer my tires will last I think im gonna do the 225/35 cuz im accident prone lol n vs the 215/40 the profile should still come out about the same

SpeedRacer
07-17-2011, 09:00 PM
Yea that is sort of why I did the 215/40s since I wanted a little more rubber, especially since roads suck up here and I pass over 40ish pot holes just in my first mile of driving to work and over one set of rail road tracks. I am fixing to camber the rear some more just so I can go a little lower without the fender lip playing a problem. I will go a little lower on the front too, but not too much until I can have the front fenders rolled and pulled.

TheLunchBox
01-28-2012, 08:52 PM
i picked up a set of these, 17x 8.5 in front, 17x 9.75 in the rear, and am planning on stretching a 205/45 in front, a 215/40 in the rear of my 1g xB, anyone know if i can mount them with the stock suspension, or if i'll have to go coils before they'll fit?

btw, i do plan on rolling and pulling my fenders... aggressively.

Big-Kokujin
01-28-2012, 09:17 PM
having coilovers will make them "fit" less. you will have to run camber or spacers because with none, the inside lip of the wheel hit the arm and not allow you to move. Ill show you some pics of various stages with KSports

Big-Kokujin
01-28-2012, 09:35 PM
I didnt realize that I havent posted pics witht the different tires. I now have Nankang NS1s, same size. I tried the same size with Falken ZE 512s and they didnt fit. They run waaaay skinny. anyway...http://img825.imageshack.us/img825/4254/img4358ly.jpg

how big of spacers would i need? and i'm guessing this means running extended studs for sure, and also whats the easiest way to add camber to a 1g xB?

Big-Kokujin

I say stay away from wheel spacers. Look for hub spacers. They push the entire hub out as opposed to just the wheel, keeping you from having to run extended lugs...I think ive heard of some people grinding down the nut that it hits if you dont run spacers, but IDK if that will be enough alone. Maybe that and some 5mm spacers will work. Oh, also your fronts will be 8.25, they dont make 8.5. :P

my bad. fronts are 8.25, rear are 9.75. but what size spacers for each, cuz they can't possibly be the same size if the wheels are that different...

ScIkO*FaErY
01-29-2012, 09:31 PM
i realize the tc is different but i run the 17x9.75 all around +25 and +20 in the rear (5mm spacers) im about to change out to a 10mm spacer in the rear tho still not enoughpoke for my tastes and it doesnt match the front, also riding on raceland coils so they are alot smaller than stock ones id probably have serious issues on stock struts/springs but no problems with the racelands, i think im running -4 camber in the rear and almost none in the front :)

oh yea 215/45 tires Nitto NeoGens, had 215/35 and 215/40 before the 40s were nice 35s rode like ever loving shite

i think i'm gonna get some federals, but i'm not looking for mega stretch. the 8.25s are getting 205/45s and the 9.75s are getting 215/40s.
