Well my wifes '10 xb is leaking from the windshield AGAIN. When we first got it, it had a bad whistling sound on the freeway. We took it in, the dealership replaced windshield. She notices a few days later, it leaks. So it goes in again, this time they break a windshield and get sealant all over the fenders. Now it has a small run right behind the rear view mirror. WTF, I just put a Scikotics sticker on the windshield over the weekend. Michigan lemon law doesnt kick in until the 4th time for the same problem.

Anyone else have problems like this?

A windshield is probably not going to get the lemon law to kick in but that still sucks. Which dealer is it?

Maybe this time they should have an auto glass company of your choice do the install and they foot the bill.

Agree with Charlie on this one... Might be time to have a auto glass company handle it.

Since this was defective from day one its under lemon law. It has had consistent issues with the windshield.

This is from a lemon law web site,
(5) It shall be presumed that a reasonable number of attempts have been undertaken to repair a defect or condition if 1 of the following occurs:

(a) The same defect or condition that substantially impairs the use or value of the new motor vehicle to the consumer has been subject to repair a total of 4 or more times by the manufacturer or new motor vehicle dealer within 2 years of the date of the first attempt to repair the defect or condition, and the defect or condition continues to exist. Any repair performed on the same defect made pursuant to subsection (6) shall be included in calculating the number of repairs under this section. The consumer or his or her representative, before availing himself or herself of a remedy provided under subsection (1), and any time after the third attempt to repair the same defect or condition, shall give written notification, by return receipt service, to the manufacturer of the need for repair of the defect or condition in order to allow the manufacturer an opportunity to cure the defect or condition. The manufacturer shall notify the consumer as soon as reasonably possible of a reasonably accessible repair facility. After delivery of the vehicle to the designated repair facility, the manufacturer has 5 business days to repair the defect or condition.

We've been going through LaFontaine Toyota.

^ The original problem was a high pitched whistling sound coming from the top of the windshield when driving at highway speeds. I could reach out and push on the middle of the glass towards the top and get it to change pitch. The other 2 windshields that the dealer installed, have both leaked water inside the car and on to the dash. I can deal with creaks and rattles, but not puddles.

What was the temperature when they installed the 2 windshields?

Did they install a new windshield gasket or reuse the original one?

My theory on this:

1)dealer installed the windshield when the car and gasket were to cold not allowing proper seal as a result
2) when removing the first windshield they damaged your gasket and as a result does not seal properly

If they leave the car inside overnight to warm it up and install the new gasket they should solve the problem.

As for the lemon law they have 2 more attempts at it not 1. It is 4 repairs for the same problem after the first attempt. Also they may think the first repair was for wind noise and the next 2 were for leaking water. You could have 3 attempts left.

I hope they just do it right and put the new gasket in for you and you can be done with it. I think if you went the lemon law route you would have to get an attorney and it would be a long process.
