I am torn between doing
20x8.5 +35 or +45 offset w/ 225/35/20
or
19x8 +35 or +45 offset with 225/35/19.
I will be lowering it with tanabe df120 springs. will I have any rubbing issues with the 20's on a 08 XB?
Anyone have a similar set up or suggestions
What offset will be a better fit?

the 19s will fit with either offset and the tire size is okay. Not sure about the 20s.

I'd say stick with +45. With DF's a +35 will be getting really close unless you go really low on the tire size or stretch them a good bit.

I have seen 18X8.5 running a 225 series tire and the fit was close when dropped 2in.
A smaller offset will tuck the wheel into the wheel well more. Conversely, the larger the offset the further the wheels stick out.
20x8.5 will fit perfectly with the stock suspension...might have some rubbing, but you can always roll the fenders.

That's a negative.
The higher the offset, the more the wheel is pulled in towards the suspension/tucking. The lower the offset the more the wheel is pushed out towards the fender. For instance a +35 wheel sticks out 10mm more than the +45 wheel.
