I saw this in eBay, and was thinking, how in the world this gets hooked? does it goes hooked up to where the plastic piece that takes in the air goes or what?
Anybody has a clue?

looks cool but you would probably throw a CEL because there is no place for the mass airflow sensor. if you had a short ram you could put this where the filter goes and make it a cai tho.

Im thinking it hooks up way before the box where the filter and sensor are.
and extend it to or near an opening on the bumper.
I might be wrong.

even so the sensor is gonna read wrong if its not plugged into the intake hose. i recommend at least getting a short ram and attatch this to the filter section of it so you dont throw your check engine light. plus it would run like crap without the sensor in the inlet pipe.

in theory yes but i dont think that there will be enough room there for that huge ass filter housing

yeah i don't know, maybe the hose hooks up to it and the big filter drops at the bottom there.
Maybe ill email and ask the seller how that thing supposed to work.

or you could go to pepboys and get the spectra kit that you can piece together and make a short ram and attatch that filter combo like i mentioned earlier. it looks to me like the thing is just a one size fits all kinda deal but it would look bad ass under the hood!

yeah but that ones for a honda civic so i would just get the individual pieces and make a 90* off the throttle body a short section up and another 90* towards the rear of the engine bay. then i would attach the filter housing and route the hose to the fenderwell. kinda like how the aem and trd cai's are ran

Nah i haven't had a chance to go by pepboys yet, i want to try to get to it and do it because i want to see if there will be a difference in how the car feels after changing the stock intake to an aftermarket one.

Do not get that intake in the photo, it is just a large filter with some black dryer vent tube and cheap clamps. It also does not come with a filter. I would be surprised if that was not carbon fiber vinyl over a metal can.

Yeah i know, after i email the people asking about it and never got an answer i just left it alone, we were talking about the spectra the one from pepboys, the one that comes in pieces, so basically make your own intake lol

Being an computer aided automotive engineer that does the occasional analysis of engine heating and cooling the best intake is usually a high flow filter in the factory box. The air in the engine compartment is hot so the RAM intake is putting hotter air into the car and with a CAI you run the risk of getting water or other debris in the engine.
When dealing with 90 hp to the wheels if we are lucky it is all for looks really anyway.
Best of luck to you with what ever you decide.

also remember that a common trick with hypermillers is to run a warm air intake to get better mpgs. if you are looking for a little more (barely any) power run a trd cold air or aem cold air. they are the same thing and have a water bypass valve in case you submerge your filter. i have the AEM and have been through water up to the lower fog light area and havnt had any problems.

 So this is why the Duct-Tape couldnt hold your filter no more huh.

lol no probably because some tard tried to put too big of a cone filter on it! we recently got a little flooding in our area and i could only avoid so much before i went through some deep stuff

Sure blame somebody else LOL
Hey i have an idea, i replaced the dryer aluminum duck and i have some left over, im going to mod that into the stock intake and use aluminum tape to hold it in place lol
Nah ill check out eBay and see if i can find a deal or somewhere else.
