How big of shot can the tc take? I find my self gettin my bottle filled like every 2 weeks to a month. Im using a 75 shot now? On stock internals?

I've always heard between 50-75 shot should do it... I'd personally only do 50 for my tC...

my toyo mech.,stu, and i are in agreement that 50-75 is a somewhat safe shot. but to answer your question, i think the motor could take about a 150-200 shot before melting down. stay below a 100.
p.s. if and when you do have nitrous related problems your dealership WILL know you have been spraying the motor; and not warranty shit.

If and When? Seriously why do ppl think nitrous is the worse type of F.I. Like turbo or supercharger cant blow your motor or have problems with it. They are all F.I. and they all CAN f ur car up if its not used properly. Point blank.
And how would the dealership know?

I think it is because it is so easy to increase your power. Lets say someone is running right at the limit and they just barely get beat by a big rival. They are going to go out, buy the next size bigger jets, and put them in for a little more power. Without realizing it, they have put their car in the "danger zone" (cue music lol)
I mean no offence to anyone running nitrous, but I believe in general, people that go turbo or supercharger spend more time researching their options and how everything works than nitrous folks. I have seen too many boy racers running half assed NAWZZZZZ setups on their cars and later hear them complaining of engine problems. Nitrous can be detrimental to an engine if not used correctly.
Just my nickle.

Right just like. You can do the same wit turbo you can get a boost controller and increase your boost and blow your stuff up just as easy as putting bigger jets in. I researched nitrous. I know how to use it. I have a Zex window switch so my n2o comes on at 3300 and goes off at 5500 so i will NEVER hit my rev limiter using nitrous. I have a Pressure switch meaning my pressure will never be to high. I got colder plugs. PPl give n2o a bad name cuz they dont know what they talkin about

and the dealership will know because if u run nitrous and just say u have a spun crank bearing or something to happen to your engine. nitrous related or not. if its internal and they crack the block and go " o look nitrous residue" your pretty much screwed. cause then u gotta pay for everything. they will look at that and say well we know what caused the problem and well. your up shits creek.

boost is more gradual power, with gradual fuel increase - nitrous is instant power, with instant fuel increase....
I've seen a manifold EXPLODE with nitrous (saw it at the track last month) - never seen it with boost alone. The other issue is on a wet kit, you have a dangerous mixture of fuel and an oxidizer traveling through your intake, 6" before the throttle body, and throughout the intake manifold...where the fuel for boost is through the factory injectors, which spray directly into the intake valve on each cylinder.
I think that's the only issue - nitrous fills your intake and manifold (before and after the throttle body) with an extremely combustible mixture...potentially more can go wrong, and when something does, it's catastrophic.
if a turbo explodes, the only mixtures passing through a turbo is air and exhaust - neither of which is dangerous, and since your fuel delivery is the same as stock, you don't risk external detonation if a turbo or supercharger fails...the car will probably enter limp mode, and you'll roll to a stop.
and to answer your question, I wouldn't do more than a 75 shot...especially if you're already filling up every two weeks...that shit's gotta get expensive...isn't it like $45 to fill a 10lb bottle? If you're adventurous, you could run a 100shot at the track, but honestly I wouldn't run that much daily driving. My nickle.

Sean, no one is here to give you problems because your running a N2O setup in your tC, you asked a question and you got a response. As most of the points in here are 100% correct, let's not get into a pissing match over the most reliable source of added power, we can save that for a ScionLife thread.
You've joined Scikotics obviously for information pertaining to your N2O setup since all of your threads have all been N2O based. Your having issues with your setup from what I read, cracked sparkplugs & rough idling, so obviously something wasn't done correctly here; or what I'd venture to say is that you have sprayed that tC entirely too much!
Perhaps you should save the N2O for the track, and limit the amount of spray you use, because it's already showing some failure on your motor.

the dealerships WILL know you have been spraying. my mech. at toyo tells me about it all the time. they pull the spark plugs and put a camera into the cylinder to check out the pistons and whatnot. and guaranteed if you have been spraying much your pistons will show, aka pitted and deformed piston surfaces. believe me, they aint warrantying shit if they dont have to and a camera into the cylinder will screw you everytime.
good luck.

first to answer the question...... with what i have read on ur issues and your set up... go back down to 50 its not worth ruining your engine....i have nitrous on my car i have only had one issue were i wasnt running a colder plug on a 100 shot at the track and destroyed my gap...... and tony is right for the most part your average nitrous kid is just that a kid and only put it on their car for the ease of changing the amount of hp your car runs..... now im not saying that all nitrous people are like that .... there are plenty of people using nitrous and not having any issues..... so be carefull.... and man you kinda freaked out i dont think anyone in here was doggin on nitrous....

My bad. Its just ppl always give nitrous a bad name and i thought thats what they were doing. My fault. I get a lil hot when people try to say nitrous is basically gonna destroy your car. Yea it cost like 50 bucks to fill the bottle depending on how much per pound the nitrous is. I will just stay at a 75, im not adventous.

I have been running a 75 shot since 2005 and have had no issues with nitrous. Since I installed the turbo I took it down to the 55 shot and recently( last year) installed the intercooler sprayer and have only been using that.
I had a local shop that tuned a TC with a 125 shot and heard that they had no issues. I don't have too many details except i havn't heard about any TC's blowin up! lol I did hear that he drives it every day and only uses the shot on occasion.

Shawn, what's your current mileage and what was the mileage when you installed your system?
Ring failure and numerous other things can be accelerated by use of N2O, so if your tC already had a few miles under it's belt, especially hard miles... it's possible it's time for some replacements internally to be able to sustain your use of the system. Could also be the reason why some of your issues have been popping up...
But N2O is a great way for more power, if installed and monitored correctly, no one denies that...
Hopefully you can get your issues you had taken care of, hate to see a tC down...

I have 16,000 miles on my car. My tc isnt down. I figured my spark plug problem out. I fouled my plug and the insulator was crackin cuz i was tighting them to much. I just fouled a plug. But yea. I asked cuz i bought some costom 85-90 shot jets from Zex, well the man told me there isnt a accurate way of knowin but its between a 85 and not higher than a 90 and i was wondring, if i could use em

Yeah, I don't think I'll ever go NOS. I'd redo the engine to run a twin turbo before I go shooting up the engine.
