so i'm looking into buying a new set of wheels for my 08 Scion tC and was wondering which one out of these two would be the safer buy to go with, meaning which one is th best for my car because i have no clue when it comes to offsets and stuff like that :/ any input would be appreciated.

btw i want to be able to use the tires i already have on my car since they still have about 95% tread left on them. ( 215/45R17 )

The 17x8s won't fit. The tC uses a 5x100 bolt pattern.
The 215/45 tires can be made to fit the 9" tires but that will be a pretty big sidewall stretch. 225 is the recommended width for a 8" rim.

Yeah, that's workable. The only thing that would stop me is the high offset. Not that everyone needs to be hellaflush but +48 is pretty deep into the wheel well. But if that is the rim you want then don't worry about everyone else!

Ugh, just noticed that they don't come in 5x100 and a low offset. I also remember why I got 002s instead of 522s :-)

not looking for it to be "hellaflush" i just love the concave rim and its at a workable price, also not looking to SLAM the car lol maybe drop it a little to close the wheel gap, think that last link i posted would be a good way to go?

Personally if I was getting a set it would be the 17x9s. I'm currently on 16x8 with a 0 offset. With them pushed out like they are the 8" actually looks a little small.
Also I'm not sure how much concave the +48 offset will have. Most concave wheels are that way because of their low offset. Instead of a deep lip they get a concave spoke design.
This is the XXR 527 in 17x9.75 +20

personally i like the thicker spokes, i'm thinking about going with the 17x8 with the +48. or the 17x9 whichever is better for my tires :D ( which one is technically better ? )

I just looked on tyrestretch.com and here is what they had for 17x9 with a 215/45. Honestly the stretch isn't as big as I first though it would be.
