Saw a few threads on this but nothing pertaining to the xB2, do you just run screws through the headliner into the roof support beam at the top of the windshield? Make brackets to install from visor hardware? Or do you use the brackets that glue to the windshield and hope they don't fail?

Any ideas would be great, I bought one and haven't decided how I want to mount it yet.

i went thru the roof support beam. measured and drilled very carefully. as the xb2 is so much wider than the wink mirror. it doesnt reach to the point to install on the visor holes.

Did mine the same way, no probs and it's been hanging there for about a year! ;)

Check this thread to see the support structure under the head liner:

The windshield mounts? I read that those are floppy as hell, having any problems yet? I don't mind buying them if they hold the mirror up as they are supposed to but reviews are very mixed on them.

we had one of these on my dad's '89 T-bird coupe turbo and my mom's '80 Celica GT.. LOVED the mirror. years ago I wanted one for my 4-runner, but couldn't find them. probably cause I didn't know what the name was... I don't think I'm gonna get one for the B though.. EVEN THOUGH there are MASSIVE blind spots on the xB2.. I'm going for a CLEAN look, and this mirror would not go with what I'm looking for....

NICE MIRROR THOUGH!!! :)

I bought the windshield mounts, checker only carries 1 at each location so after driving around and finding 2 I glued the mount to the windshield and gave it 5 hours to cure. 5 wasn't enough, so I cleaned the windshield again and going to wait 48 hours. If that doesn't work I'm taking them back.

Right on, let us know how those work out. If there's less "shake" to the mirror, etc.

i found the cure for the vibrations!!!!!
some of you might not tlike this idea but its great for me.
i pushed the mirror all the way up against the roof and that solved the shakey vibrations problem. i can see clearly now withotu straining my eyes!!!!

That's how I have mine mounted. Doubles as a built in sun shade that way too! ;p lol! Don't get much vibration but was just curious of how it was if you used windsheild mounts.

I used silicone for mine. Mounted on the windshield. It is so shaky though! If I mount it on the roof beam will it be stable compared to the silicone?

Yes very stable. June is mounted from the roof. I also pushed it up a little higher and I have no vibrations at all I love it.
