View Full Version : 2011 tails on a 2008

Anyone know if the tails on the 2011 box will fit on the 2008? I don't care about wiring being different and the new conficguration of reverse lights. I just need to know if they physically bolt up.

The bolts line up, but the bumper/light don't. The bottom of the light is different completely. So, you'll need to get the bumper cover, as well as the tail lamps themselves.

Ok, thanks. I like the new tails but not the bumper. I hate the new reflectors.

yeah.. it is Dept of Transportation rules that all vehicles have reflectors in the rear. look in ANY tail lights. there are rear and rear side reflectors.. I wish they wouldn't of put them in the bumper. :(

Ya, I know the reasoning of the reflectors but they could have concealed them a little better. All they had to do was put them in the tailights like other manufacturers.

Ya, I know the reasoning of the reflectors but they could have concealed them a little better. All they had to do was put them in the tailights like other manufacturers.

TRUE!!!! rear bumper reflectors = EPIC FAIL

I was talking with someone about this today.. it might not work cause of how small the pipes would have to be in order for it to look good. makes me think of a VW bug...... :p

BUT... it would look cool if it was done.

a little urethane body filler and a few coats of paint and those reflectors disappear

You guys do have a few good ideas to ditch them. Is the rear hatch the same as the '08? I may switch out to the '11 front bumper too because I need a new one anyway. Who knows, I'm still in the planning stages.

Yes, it is exactly the same. The bolt holes are too. Together the bolt up w/ adapted wiring for the reverse lights (rear) and/or headlamps (front).

if you switch the front bumper you'll have to do the headlights because they are shaped a little different
