i just got done installing the trd quick shifter on my 2011 xb, and man do i love it. this thing is sweet! wish i had done it sooner. install was rather easy after i could finally make out the pictures that came with the instructions.

not much to it, but it works great!

congrats! i just installed this on my 2011 last saturday and it is pretty nice and build quality is excellent. since i saw this i wanted to ask if yours is a little stiff or is it just me? i also installed SS shifter bushings at the same time and i am wondering if that is why it is so stiff. thanks for any feedback.

Consider getting a sport shifter as well (shortened in-cabin shift lever), it nicely reduces the knob height and also the side to side shift throw -- two things the TRD QuickShifter has no effect on.

my quick shifter was working great until last weekend. i was driving through town and had to stop at a busy intersection. when the light turned green i went to shift into 1st and...nothing. i tried and tried but i couldnt go into 1st gear so i finally had to go into 2nd just to get out of the way. i made it home and took a look and everything seemed to be fine. i ended up taking the quick shifter off examining it and reinstalling it, so i will see if i have anymore problems. anyone have an idea of what might be wrong?

It could be that it just didn't get into gear. A lot of toyotas do it, including my xB. Did you let go of the clutch and then press it to try to put it in gear? If you tried that than I don't know what could be wrong with it. :/

I tried letting go of the clutch a few times and putting back into gear but it didnt help.

I just installed one of these as well. going to do a DIY on it. should make it a little easier to understand. the factory instructions SUCK.

GET ONE!!! you WILL LOVE IT!!!

I have found that the TRD quick shift makes the shifting a little notchy, but that is what happens with short shifts. it doesn't allow the shifter to fully engage in the gear. just enought to catch it and hold it. I find that wait till higher RPMs before shifting and it's less notchy.

If you can't shift into 1st.. AT A STOP, shift into reverse then 1st.. that might help.

FWIW -- hard shift bushings make the shifting more notchy, not less, so if you feel notchiness is a problem, don't get hard bushings, the OE rubber ones will be better.
