My favorite is Tein S-tech springs by far! Scion should have made the xA look like that from the factory. Every xA needs to be lowered...
Easiest was de-badging and new wheels
Nothing new planned...too poor :blink1:

If I had to say so....

Favorite: Guage face (it's in Kilometers, cool huh?)
Easiest: TRD lowering springs (for me at least)
Next: prolly nothing, I'm poor and my car is really getting up in mileage, and it's kinda starting to show.

It's hard to stay motivated to improve my car. I keep having problems with wheels, and I really need paint on my hood, bumper, and fenders. Damn rock chips!!!!

The DF210's are killer on an XA with a set of 18's... very nice drop/tuck.. I've also seen a bagged XA recently looks HOT...

So I would say the best is a killer drop, combined with nice wheels and a good kit...

i want to put a new horn in mine. it's just so wimpy sounding. too bad there's probably not enough room to put a train horn-type thing in it. that would be wicked awesome.

 at Asylum someome, can't remember at this minute, but in an xB had a loud truck horn installed, I would like it as a backup horn on a toggle somewhere, but I like my "beep" right now, but as a bus driver, I am used to a much bigger horn :pilot:

Gonna dig this one up...

Another easy mod that looks good is the One Ton Garage rear hub spacer shims. I haven't purchased a pair yet, still banging my head on getting the shims, hotchkis sway bars or Weapon R engine damper. Next will be a set of TEIN basic coil-overs.

OTG sells them for $70 with free shipping. They had before and after photos of Scions with steelies and larger aftermarket rims to show how much of a difference these make.

Screw it, I'm gettin' em after typing this. LOL

LOL I retracted my order for the shims... I really want to upgrade the suspension...

I've been selling mad stuff out of my attic on eBay and now I have money burning a hole in my pocket.

I hate being stationed in the US, I can't afford jack on my pay... it would be a different story if I was back in Japan, I'd have finished my car by now.

whatmovesu
10-04-2006, 08:22 PM
do you have the hook up in japan

satmax
10-04-2006, 09:44 PM
No, no hook-ups. I lived in Okinawa from 97~2005. During that time, I never saw any ISTs. There was one bB that belonged to this lady that was hooked up but I was into the street racing thing pretty much the whole time I was there until I blew an engine and then spent the rest of my days with a 4Runner.

Military folks get paid way more over in Japan than in the states. I pretty much lost $3000 from my paycheck coming back here.

I do talk very little with an IST owner from Club@IST... but he says he has a hard time finding parts for the car (serious?)

If I ever do get back over there I'd probably sell mad shit on eBay. lol

Best; This one is tough, I can't decide if exhaust or suspension made the car drive better. I will have to say that springs, sway bar and strut bar have improved the ride the most.
Easiest; Got a great deal on tint from my brother in law's buddy $100 for all 7 windows. Yee-haw!
Next; I have megan headers on the way, looking for a high flow cat to complete intake /exhaust system.
Way next; Wheels, gotta save up for decent spokes. Nothing is cheesier than crappy wheels, (well maybe a wing on a piece of crap that barely runs). I would rather have steelies forever than have dorky wheels.

I love a car's engine bay. It's one of the hardest parts of the car to keep spotless and IMO it's the best part of my car.

My first mod was a carbon fiber engine cover in which I put a chrome Toyota symbol and a VVT-i emblem to represent the OEM cover. It looked
better, but I think what really set off my engine bay was my Injen CAI. Thick piping that ran around like a roller coaster and disappeared below my
left headlight.

For people who love to show, I think the CAI is one of the best first mods to do. My Injen made a big improvement in performance and I love the crazy vacuum sucking noice it makes. lol I picked up my CAI online for $220. I wanted the AEM but when I saw both versions in person, I thought the Injen stood out more with it's big beefy pipes.

Hey Josh, :kid: love your xA, really nice, would love to have the sunroof too, but for now its where I plan to put my drop down screen! I also have an Injen CAI, but the short ram, it was a gift from a friend, and I was happy to get it, maybe someday I will get one like yours, did it decrease your gas mileage?? Maybe mine did cause of it being a short ram  but I still love the power it gives me! I want some KillerGlass hoses too. I guess I did not read far enough to see what type of exhaust you have if any? My baby also screamed take me with you!!

When I returned from Kuwait and drove from Delaware to my home in Tulsa, OK (I live close to Jon) I was getting excellent gas mileage. I can't remember the numbers, but I know I didn't have to fill up until I got near Pittsburgh which is about 300+ miles from Dover, DE I think. Once I installed the cruise control, it was a lot better since I wasn't always touching the pedal. Man, that cruise control is da' poop!

My exhaust is a Blitz NUR Spec axle back, I used the same exhaust when I was in Japan and I liked the look. It doesn't sound at all like a Honda fart-can. Someday I'll finish the rest of the exhaust.

I like the sunroof, but I'm hoping it doesn't end up like my old Camaro's T-tops that leaked like a mofo when it rained... A drop down screen would be tight and that's what I would do if I didn't have the sunroof.

However, I bought the car because it has a sunroof. A regular xA doesn't have enough headroom for me. If I slide the sunroof cover back, it gives me at least 2 more inches of headroom, else I would probably be driving a tC. lol

to answer your question my car is an automatic so it will reach a bit higher speed I like the agency power pulley mod the best as far as results on an automatic and changing to amsoil in the tranny.

there is no part on the car i would change for another one I like the TRD spring and shock setup do the polyurathane front sway bar modification. if you measure the front sway on the XA it is bigger then a WRX swaybar so I see no need to change it the progress technologies sway bar is good but the meagan underframe brace made more of a diffrence in the handling to me thats the way I feel about it. the celica cat swap only gave a half a horsepower but we installed it because we knew it would work it flows better and we are planning for boost in the near future. as far as sound is concerned I tested a few intakes and The injen makes the Xa sound like there is a V8 under the hood I get asked all the time if we did a motor swap i just laugh knowing such a swap is almost immpossible. As not to bias my assessment I am sponsered by Injen and have 22 other sponsors as well so we have come along way with this car. i do however really like the injen products they are very well made and the CARB certification gets me by with the emmisions inspectors on the 06 models. really all of the mods I have done have ben practicle except for the throttle body we saw a little bit better response but we trashed the first throttle body doing the mod so as far as cost is concened it wasn't worth it.

oh and to the guy looking for horns you can get loud replacement horns deep tone at advanced auto they don't look fancy no fancy packaging the packaging is white and black and you will see a bunch of car names on the packaging they are a direct swap over and are louder then the ones in the fancy packaging and the horns are orange don't get the orange ones. after we insalled two of these hornes we spliced into the horn wiring and installed a set of three airhorns. i have however decided at some point I am going to find a tractor trailer truck or RV junkyard and pull off the metal air horns and the air compressor and tank and make the hors as loud as a SEMI truck as if tey wern't loud enough already. i have had to use my horn alot driving an XA people cut you off but the horns scare the crap out of them because they never expect such a big sound out of a little car. In other words I get cut off and flipped off alot driving. I had looked into getting a iol rig one mile horn but once I saw how big it was and how big the airtank was I was sure it wouldn't fit so I scratched that idea not to mention it would be so loud it would cause wrecks and I would probabley get into alot of trouble. to swap your horns lift th hood take off the Xa badged grill just use a flathead to pop up the plastic pieces carefulley then remove the little grill unbolt the old horns take them off bolt the new ones up plug them in modifcation time ten easy minutes. addidng air horns takes longer I might right a diy on how to make the brackets for the airhorns and mount them up.sometime good luck.
