Thanks for posting pictures!! I'm glad you like the kit and everything is well =]. I hope the increased visibility will keep you more safe at night.

For our Philips version, they only go up to 8K. Philips does not make anything above 8k for their genuine patent kits =[.

Thanks again for the support everybody!

These kits do not require a relay harness on a Scion TC, but can be purchased as an optional item. All Philips kits are in stock at www.mengmotorsports.com!

I got my new meng HID 5k kit today and can't wait to take the old one out and this one in. I'm very happy they arrived but when I opened the box there was no installation guide and more importantly no decal. Whats up with that?? I got a show tomorrow and can't show my support. If you can, can you send me two decals in black. Thanks

Thanks for the order Darkangel! I am positive you will love the kit once you get it installed =]. I do apologize for no instructions or decal. As stated on our website and on the product page, we no longer include instructions. This saves paper and cost of course, as opposed to printing out a packet for every HID order. I am very sorry for the inconvenience. However, we still have a lot of support for our customers. On that same HID page, we have an online instruction manual in PDF form. It is a complete step-by-step guide with color photos. We also have Meng Motorsports videos on youtube that go through the installation.

I'm glad you got an HID at the show! I hope you guys all had a great time.

We are currently out of decals =[. If you guys have seen our decals, they are a two layer decal that we have to manually set up. In the future we may just go with a simply one layer decal. Currently we are still waiting for our printing to set up our vinyl decals. Sorry for the wait. However if you email us with your name and address, we can take your name down and send you some decals when we get more in!

My Meng HIDs are finally installed it would of been faster and easier if the shop I got my old HIDs installed by hadn't cut the stock connectors where the bulbs go and put different ones. But I'm happy I went with Meng, they look awesome. Thanks!

mengsta
07-01-2011, 01:03 AM
12K's are a purple-ish blue color. Its still blue in the hue because 100% purple will have very minimal visibility. We could get you 100% purple as a custom color which is 30,000K, but 12000K is your best bet =].

Just iinstalled the Philips HID Kit. Very nice. I'll try and post pics sometime tonight when the temperature drops from "come outside I dare you!" to "you're good now."

Also, Tony...I need your help with an LED tail light install problem. My brake light fuse blows or my turn signal fuse blows (one or the other...when I fix one). Can I get the names of what parts I might need?? LED Flashers, etc... 2010 Scion tC.

I'm drivin' with no turn signals now...hehe. Using my arms like a motorcycle....lol

I'm glad you like our HID kits!

Hmm that is very weird. LED tail light, are you using our LEDs for the tail light? Also when you replace the fuses, are you replacing them with the same amperage? Let me know which tail lights you are using so I can find out for you. IF its the stock tails, I'm not too sure if you can use LEDs in there as you will have a strobe affect.

I'm ordering me a couple kits this Friday :) Meng 6000K HID for low beams and 3000K Fogs!

I'll need the 6000K kit with H11 wires and H7 bulbs, just for reference, Mengsta. I believe I already mentioned that to you guys

mengsta
01-26-2012, 06:15 PM
Hey Chase how are you doing? Oh sounds great! I'm sure you will love our kits. For the H7 make sure you go with our V.1 because unfortunately we don't have H7 in V.2 yet. All that should change in a few months though. Yes I remember speaking to you about it. No worries we can put in H11 wires no problem =].

If not just reverse the plug. I dont remember whose I installed but they were like that

Try reversing the plug that goes into the headlight harness. For some reason my 05 tC was like that

Either would look awesome IMO. I'm actually gonna buy a set of 6000k bulbs for my fogs whenever I feel like matching :) on another note, since you mentioned big things (lol sounds dirty), I'm getting a Fidanza 9.5 lb flywheel, F1 Racing clutch, drilled/slotted font rotors w/TRD pads, and a set of stock steelies with tires all for $500 this weekend!!!!! :) Thats some big stuff going down :)

So was it the wire being reversed? And the high beam part sux!!!! :(

xDork
03-13-2012, 06:49 PM
I had to reverse the polarity from the ballast to the factory socket. Then I removed the white clip cord because that is just an extension cord in some since and just hooked up what was at each end of the extension to each other.

10xb
03-13-2012, 06:55 PM
That seems to be the main problem wiht the kits. I looked on a bunch of forums after I got mine at the Cox Scion show to make sure I did it right. Most of the problems were just reversing the wiring. Glad it worked out.

I looked up the size and a 9007 kit is already a dual bulb. Our kits do not remove the hi beam bulb. So all he needs is a 9007 kit. However yes I do believe the Ram is a CANBUS system, so he will have to order the capacitors with the kit and I believe everything should be okay. I'm glad you like the HIDS!

Sorry for the late reply xdork! You are more than welcome to just give us a call if you are still having problems. Yes do not reverse anything besides the male plug that goes into the ballast. It is the male plug that has a clip on its side and is a dual wire plug. On most Scions, you have to reverse the polarity, so just flip this plug upside down. If your low beams are working now, then you did this right and everything is okay =]. That white connector plug is basically a hi beam plug or if I am looking at it right, it should be one of the resistors. Our new bixenon kits do not need a controller harness. When you flip to hi beam the bulb should move up. Let me know if you are still having problems and I will do my best to help.

Unfortunately bi-xenon kits are usually made only one way in terms of the wiring harness that goes to the factory. Wiring problems are pretty common because even though a kit can be H4 or 9007, the wire for the hi beam can be in a different location on the harness than other vehicles (IE: dodge H4 or Scion XD H4). I don't even think the H4 XB and XD hi beam wire is in the same location. Long story short, I am very sorry you ran into a problem and I will do my best to help if you are still having problems. If the kit low beams work, its not a defect issue, more of a wiring issue that we have to figure out.

So I should probably put the cord with the white clips back on? Refer to my pics of the clips having reverse polarity at one end but matching polarity at the other. Is that normal?

i GOT the 6000k they are bomb too love that kit!!

mengsta
03-14-2012, 10:54 PM
Thanks KKpham =].

As for the white plugs, yes these need to be plugged and are essentially what controls the hi beam. The low beams will work without this harness and from what I am understanding, this is how you have the kit set up currently (without the white plugs). Certain vehicles need the white clip reversed as well, if your hi beams don't work trip flipping them back to normal. I apologize for the confusion but its so tough to have bi-xenon kits set up one way. I am looking at the same kit right in front of me, is there anyway you can plug the hi beam harness without that extension wire? This way the polarity can be the same also.

Ahh sorry to hear you are still having problems. Okay sounds good, let me know how everything goes. We are more than happy to refund you the difference and send you a regular hi/low HID kit or refund the kit all together.

xDork

I am sure it has to be a polarity issue. I just wish we had a DIY in the xD forums that had this newer ballasts in it so it would not be such a pain in the butt. I have been driving around with just the low beams for now. It the weather allows it I am going to try to look at the polarity of things and see what I can come up with.

*Update*

I still had not luck with getting the product to work fully. I have sent an email to Sales@Mengmotorsports.com this morning. Maybe I will have better luck next time.
