Ok so the thing im trying to decide is weither or not to turbo the tc. What I wanted to ask everyone is what is the max hp i could get keeping it n/a? I dont want to run nos so thats out, im not opposed to building up the engine a little. Let me know what you all think.

you won't be able to hit the 200mark, not without engine work. Header back exhaust, lightweight pulleys, flywheel/clutch/tranny, intake, what else? Does the LSD add HP? or just increase the overall driveability? I know it adds a few hefty lbs, TRD has taken that over, so the potential to preserve your warranty at a premium is there.
you don't want nos, so that eliminates your biggest potential gain. I haven't heard of anyone reworking the engine for n/a applications, so I don't know what kind of gains you'd be looking at there.
anyone else chime in? you'll get a pretty good gain, nothing amazing.

Karl has done a pretty decent overhaul of his engine. Pullies, flywheels, trd sc, and custom crank. He's currently getting around 250whp. I'd talk to him.

Well i do know that you can get that NA for sure, it would be a matter on how much you willing to spend..
2 things, one, tunning, you can have all the bad ass parts there is in the market, no tune, you aint getting no where, then the head, any race car builder can tell you that ALL the power in the car is lost in the head. Good Head Good power, when i say head all the components play a role, anything from the intake manifold to the exhaust manifold(header).. So if you ask me, if a tC with all the bolt ons can hit 180's, i know that you can squeeze another 20 out from the head and tunning. shoot you might be able to squeeze it out from tunning if you have a bad ass tuner..
On the tunning device, stay away from piggybacks, scions will re-learn the piggy backs(after 15 ign cycles if im not mistaken), so opt out for a full stand alone like Haltech, MegaSquirt, Haltech, Microtech, Wolf 3d, Power FC. etc.
So can it be done, yes, would you end up putting almost the same amount of cash as a turbo, quite possible, then why do it, becuase you can brag on how you have the Fastest / Quickest, NA tC.
PS... if you want to build the engine, then thats a diff ball game... High Comp pistons, rods, aggresive cams... ohh god i just my myself.

Screw ZPI - their business sucks.
For a N/A tC, hitting 200HP isn't easy. Intake/Header/Exhaust will get you some, but not 40 HP.
Easiest way to get to 200 is to put on the TRD Supercharger.

wow, such differing opinions.
what is the max hp i could get keeping it n/a. im not opposed to building up the engine a little.
The real question (and answer) lies in what you are willing to do with the shortblock (bottom end).
I heard through the grapevine that a tuning company made +50-60hp with bolt ons, a head and piggyback aem EMS. But then you're stuck unless you wanna tear the block apart & go with rods & high-comp pistons. That's where the REAL all motor fun begins.
With a boosted setup though, you will have much more tuneability and potential, while keeping a stock bottom end. (and you dont even need an expensive ported head to break 200) This makes boost the most cost-effective option.
I'm a boost nut. I'd go F/I
