Ok gang so I've talked with some sources and there is a possibility for scion show of champs in 2011, now nothing is set in stone but I need some feedback from scikos and other scion forums . Anyone who attended show of champs in 2010 or prior knows its a good turn out but what would we need from our sponsors and affiliated clubs to make it even bigger and better ?
Some tthings that could be a factor . During the judging do you prefer the drive thru or them walking around ?
Live entertainment ?
Activity ?
Ect.....

Any idea and opinion is greatly appreciated . Post on this thread or pm me or txt me and let me kno what u would like to see improved or added if we can get show of champs back up.

From the one time I went to Show of Champions, I feel like it would be better to have the judges walk around instead of having people break down their set up..

and a ky wrestling match.. would be awesome.. lol just kidding.

Drive-thru sucks and makes a logistics nightmare. People are easier to move than cars.

Like entertainment, meh, but maybe some local DJ's. Just make sure sound isn't so loud I can't even talk to the judge where I'm set up at.

Contests are always great, even better if there's something to win. Is any dealer / Scion corporate looking to help out with this?

Where would the venue be? Track, dealership, or empty lot? If location allows, Id suggest something with videogames, Gran Turismo tourney would be great. I have a PS3 I can lend, would just need to make sure it's always staffed so they don't walk away.

I think a tuning shop in College Park has a mobile dyno. That would be a great addition, they do charge for pulls though.

Sciko doll jello wrestling, I'll bring the kiddie pool, lol.

You must be new here. Last august we had 14 days above 90 degrees. Granted, it was better than the 20+ days in July, but still hot.

All ideas and suggestions will be noted and spoke for ... except the strippers. That kinda goes against family oriented don't ya think lol .

nothing says family like strippers....

I would say the number 1 request would be to check the schedules of the other shows to make sure that nothing else is happening on the same day. Other than that all of the regular show stuff would be cool... food, music, giveaways, ect...

Ok I talked with my source and I need to kno y everyone is against the drive thru judging . In all reality are u having your car judged or your set up judged. I need detailed reasons of y everyone dosnt like the drive thru judging.

I'm against drive-thru judging because my car shows best when opened up.

When I set up, I have to drop the ramp, undo the front motorcycle tie-downs for a cleaner interior, install the computer keyboard, put the themed wheel chocks under the tires, add a door prop to one side, have the hood open, and this year I may be adding a power invertor and a generator so that I can leave the entertainment and lighting on.

If I'm doing drive-thru, I have to re-tie down the bike, and a lot of the little mod deatails get hidden because door, hood and tail panels aren't open. It takes more time to re-set up in front of the judges to get it in a presentable condition. All the while, things like my tent, cleaning supplies, generator, tools, personal items, etc. are sitting back at my spot unattended, and frankly I'm a little uncomfortable leaving some of it, especially the tools after losing (gotten stolen) two years ago.

Drive thru judging seems to always take longer as there's added transition time to get cars in and out and set up. I have yet to be at a show where the judging ends on time, and this would seem to make the problem even worse. Not to mention, a long line of cars with engines running waiting to be judged on a hot august day is just a bad idea. It really seems to be an added logistics headache with no benefit that I can see.

When a car has to leave to go get judges, it's also unavailable for spectators walking around and enjoying the show to look at, and I think takes away from the show experience. Why are they so pressed for drive thru judging? This is seriously a rarity for any show I've seen. Mike, why all the cloak and dagger about who's putting this together. You're not Woodward and this ain't Watergate, "my source" just sounds kind of funny.

BTW, if you look at most judging forms, they judge car AND set up. Presentation matters, otherwise I'd just hand in a mod sheet and they wouldn't even need to see the car.

i couldnt agree more with Brian...

the only show i have been to that had drive thru judging is carlisle. i cant blame them with the amount of cars that show there.

its very time consuming cause you park, get your car all cleaned up and detailed and looking good and then you gotta hop back in it to wait in a line to be judged.

walk up judging you clean your shit, set it up and then go have fun. tell them stop being lazy asses and do walk around judging lol

also they should have some competion there.. like loudest exhaust or if its at the drag strip.. fastest scion.

swag give away for one.
i think there needs to b contests like britt said (hi/low, loud exhaust, most strippers packed in your car)
and i wouldnt know from showing but it does make sence to keep ur car in one spot to b judged. a lot of time is put in to make ur car look good in one spot i couldnt imagine moving it
but other than that im down tyo show this year...gettin my ass in gear and modding

Sorry every one I have not been on as much as I should but I have some updated news for everyone, First the name of the event has Evolved into Scion Road Rage so the name of the show is changing. Second there will be a Ride and Drive for people wanting to drive any new Scion (xD, xB, tC.....and iQ VALID DL REQUIRED). Third we are still working on getting in some fast cars for everyone to enjoy (10.5 pro mods), venders (food and other), and pro scion drivers. We do have several dealers that are saying that they are going to be apart of this event and will have events set up for everyone to do. We will have several different awards to hand out, Live music going on all day and fun fun fun. As far as the car show and the judge goes I will talk it over with him and see what will work. The reason we went with the dirve thru format is because when we did it the first time we got all the way to the end and then we had about 20 cars pull up, and say "we did not know the judge was comming around we were on the track". Also as everyone knows IT WAS HOT HOT HOT and walking around every car for several hours was not the most ideal thing to do on that day, and what you guys dont know is that after the first show one of the judges , and my self had to go to the emergency room later that night because of the sun (yes we did put on sun block). Bottom line is we will what is best and safe for everyone to make this show the biggest and best of the year. I will post more as it comes, one last thing if any one has any suggestions (events, prizes, awards) please let me know now while I can do something about it. If anyone needs talk to me they can call me at work at 410-761-9000 any time just ask for Charles.

Thank you
