I have a cracked alternator. I'm having trouble figuring out what amp an oem one is. I've found a few on ebay that say 80...is that right? I just want it to be the same as my stock one was. Thanks.

Not sure what year of xB you have but I was told on the '06 xB's its 35amps at Idle and 65amps at 5000rpms. This was from a guy in my town that measured it while on my xB. Could be 80 though and mines going to shit but thats what mine tested at. For $250 he would rebuild it to get around 120amps out of it but I've been talking to someone else about using an alternator form an Echo and rebuild it. My quote for the alt.&rebuild was $400 and it would put out 192amps peak. Apparently the Echo Alt. can bolt onto stock location and gauranteed for 1yr. I'm thinking that I'm going this route!:-)
