It's about time my suspension be replaced, so I was just wondering what the biggest different between the two options are.

Coilovers use better valved shocks that will support a higher spring rate spring.
They are also more tolerant of lowering springs, and will do a better job controlling them.
FInally, coilovers will let you easily adjust the ride height at that corner.
They're more expensive for a reason.

Oh, so coilovers are used in place of struts and still use springs.. Sorry for silly questions. Thanks for replying :)))))

Yup, the coilover combines a shock, with a "coil (spring) over" it, that's where it gets its name from.
Our front suspension need this kind of setup.
For the rear though, although you could run a true coilover, it's better to run a high quality aftermarket shock and replace the spring with the spring of your choice.
Coilover type kits for our cars rear use a shock and a spring that sits on an adjustable collar so you can adjust ride height. They dont replace the shock with a coilover unit and eliminate the seperate spring.

Ok, thanks, you've helped immensely. I think I am going to go with Tien S-Tech springs w/ TRD Struts for now.

"Real" coilovers are a set combination of springs and struts. WIth a adjustable bottom perch. You dont buy coilovers then buy springs, it is a set.
