Many people say that you cannot install a air fuel gauge unless its a wide band. But I have heard that it works if you install it on the second o2 sensor below the top one....Is this true??

theres no controversy. narrow band afr's are virtually useless.

A narrow band (dancing disco light) does not read nearly as accurately or as quickly as a wide band. I agree with the above post, totally useless save your money, pay a little more and get a wideband.

The real question is, what do you need one for?
I was looking at your profile and you have no mod that really constitutes you to need a 300.00 light source in your ride. If you'r looking to do a power adder upgrade than it's warranted. If you have no intention on doing such a upgrade than the wide-band serves you no purpose. Your car from the factory comes tuned just fine and dosen't need such a gauge.
What I'm saying is put your money into something that will make a difference in your ride, rather than a light show that no one cares about.
Be purpose driven, not look at the cool stuff I have but it serves no purpose driven. At that point your better off with the "dancing disco light".
Definately don't get roped in by some who says you need something that you don't. Be wise with your money.

A narrow band will only tell you if you are running lean or rich, not by how much. Typically, you just get a green light if you are running at stoich. If you deviate from that, it will say lean or rich.
With a wideband, it will tell you the exact ratio you are running. When you get into performance and are needing to run a richer mixture, the narrowband is useless. The wideband is essential for properly tuning an engine.

For everyone who thinks its not possible!!! It actually is possible of hooking up a narrowband air fuel gauge to are cars, let me explain; there is a second o2 sensor under the car on the exhaust pipe all you do is tap into the black wire. however the narrowband will probably not be accurate but it will work and give u a pretty light show.

It's not the fact that it isn't possible, it's just a waste of money, really.

If you tap the second 02 sensor your not going to get an accurate reading anyway it's after the catalytic convertor... so it's even more useless...

or be all riced out with some bad ass card board body kit and spoiler-stickers- and an A/F ratio guage with a boost guage and no turbo or supercharger
