In my contacts with the director of park and rec today, an opportunity to have our own exclusive spot during the parks 4th of July celebrations was offered and is an opportunity that I believe we should take advantage of. The date is way sooner than previously suggested and I know some people go out of town on the 4th but the number of people that show up for the daytime park celebrations on the 4th are in the thousands and so the opportunity to collect donations for St. Jude would be huge and would come to us with little promotion. The food vendors would already be there in the park and we would be allowed to have our own PA and DJ. So here is my question to you all, if this show were on the 4th of July would you be able to attend and show your car? Please respond and vote a.s.a.p. so I can let the Park and rec guy know if this works. Thank you!!!

I voted YES, but if there is a family block party, I may have to attend that or try to split the day between the two events...

I just got word that the people in charge of the 4th of July Celebrations are very excited about our show and would love to have us be a part of the party in the park that day. They also want some of the cars to appear in the parade in the morning. We're just waiting on word from the school who's blacktop we'd be on to ok it. Holler!

Yo, thanks sooo much everybody for your votes and responses. It's lookin like we're gonna have enough cars to hold this on the 4th. I'm just waiting for the final go from the school, but we have a great collection of rides so far. I did some research and they actrually had over 15,000 people show up for this last year, so we are lookiong really good. Kepp votin and postin and I'll update this week.

Sweet Dave, and don't forget to get at me with what you'll need donated.
Perfect Matt. Thank you. I still want to do that but I'm not sure if we would need a permit to sell it at this event, so I will let you know.

Damn, that's a big list. I think a good idea would be to offer a loaf of bread to anybody who donates $5 or more. That would get people movin. What's the largest amount of loafs you can get? Cause there's gonna be hella people at this thing.

They will be happy to donate, but I don't know exactly what they will be willing to give. I think it's important to think this through so we know exactly what would be best, and not to just order up a bunch. Just let me know when you have an idea of what we need.
