Thinking about getting my XB dropped. I dont really know much about suspensions though. Should it be coil overs or springs? what are the Pros and Cons of both?

Coilovers are more costly but u can change ur ride height, springs are lighter on ur wallet but its a designated ride height.

If your in a state with a nicer climate year round I'd consider coilovers. Personally thats the only reason I went with springs. I dont want to drop the money on coilovers and have them start to oxidize from the road salt.

What do you guys have? and if you guys had the money would you still choose springs?

Coilovers are always nicer but in my experience if your doing them you cant really skimp out and go cheap with them, bad shit happens. With that being said coilovers are defenitly a nicer piece just because of the fact their completely adjustable. If your doing springs I def recommend doing struts as well many times your stock struts will not hold long on drop springs, however im not sure if they make them or not yet for our cars but theres a few companies (ground control being the best imo) that make a coilover sleeve which you would use as a spring and then just put those over a nice set of struts this is generally a cheaper and still great setup/alternative to full on coilovers.

What kind of drop are you looking for? What are the specs of the wheels you plan to run?

18x8 or 9 not sure yet. I really want to go for stance. But Im still trying to see if any of this will mess up my car.

I'm runnin the tanabe DF210 springs. gives it about 2" drop. Once the springs get broken in the total drop is around 2 1/4" or so.. LOVE IT!!! Here in Oregon we get a lot of rain and with the different elevations that means a lot of dips on entryways.. I have to watch it on some, but for the most part I don't scrape.

I would LOVE to get a set of coil overs.. cost is over $1K for a GOOD set.

Some might say that coilovers are for track cars. Only get them if you are going to race on a track. That is what they are made for...

But I don't care. I still want them.

Keep in mind: Most people with coilovers once they find the ride height they like NEVER adjust them again.

If $$ is a factor then definitely go with the tanabe DF210s. GREAT springs and won't break the bank.

I was thinking of those tanabe springs but Ive read on other forums that sometimes people bottom out with some of those.

Another good set of springs are the Eibach Sportline Spring Kit... it gives you a 2.0" drop all the way around and they are easy on the wallet... I've got some for mine... I just have to find time to put them on and I run 18x8" Wheels

If it's for your daily driver, I'd say go with springs. Ask any XB2 owner with coilovers (most of which probably have KSPORTS) if they had to go it again, they wouldn't. The ride isn't smooth, and you will feel every little bump in the road. I'm running Tein HTech springs, I've had them on for about a year, but right now I'm getting bagged. My advice even though some may disagree, would be go with springs.

just my two cents

I used the Eback Pro Kit springs on my 2010 XB with 17" Split spoke Toyota wheels. I'm very happy with the drop and look. It's my wife's daily driver (and mine) taking the kids to school and back. Weekend car etc.
