Why can a turbo tc running 9lbs of boost run high 13's or low 14's and a tc thats s/c running 9.5lbs of boost get high 14's when s/c have no lag?

it all depends on the tune

yea like i told ya beef. u get a piggyback and get it tuned with the pnp harness. u will go up in a lot more hp. and if there was any warranty work being done u just unplug and it goes back to the trd reflash. idk IMO if your pushing about 225whp -230whp maybe less maybe more with the s/c with a 9.5lb pulley if u got a piggyback with it tuned would prob move u up to 250whp. but i could def be exaggerating on the gains. but i promise it will be there.

Another thing to think about is superchargers are only running peak boost pressure at redline. A turbo is at peak pressure as soon as it spools up.

The reason is the design turbos run off of the cars exhaust and superchargers run off of the cars drive belt causing parasitic loss. Turbos are basically free power meaning you don't take away from the engine to make power, superchargers take power away to make power meaning it depends on the engines drive belt to rotate it.

o well yes i was aware of this. ever appliance u have running on your car like alternator, waterpump, etc is all parasitic loss. of course u knew this already. and yea s/c are at peak boost at redline. however fast your car engine is rotating is how much power u get out of it. turbo doesnt work that way. like he said ^^^ once your in boost with a turbo u are at peak boost of course depending on what psi your running at takes a lil longer but hey whats a turbo without turbo lag. thats the only bad thing about a turbo in my opinin which top me really isnt a big deal. yes a s/c may get off the line quicker but as soon as u hit boost with a turbo eat my dust s/c. now i know there are things u can do to a s/c to make it faster like header back exhaust or lightweight crank pulley and a ETD to strap it down a lil better to the wheels. but u can also do the last two for a turbo as well. i know i will. s/c can only do so much. especially with the factory tune. get a piggyback with a tune and that will prob be the best thing u can do with a s/c.

No, the reason is that S/C's don't hit peak boost until high rpms... Also - it depends on how much air (CFM) the turbo or supercharger can push through.

Exactly what I was going to say.

Turbo hits boost in the middle of the RPM range. whereas supercharger hits it only at the highest RPM's due to the fact that it's belt driven.

i was close. and thats almost pretty much what i said lol i think

and not all turbos are created equal. like someone mentioned above.. the cfm plays a huge factor, but also.. like stated above too.. as soon as the turbo hits full boost its running max all the way to redline.. sc dont do that bc they are belt driven
