I have done a lot of research and from what I have read on the net, SEM paints are some of the best around for plastics and vinyl. Google SEM paints and you will be able to find their clear coat

dont use rattle can clear on stuff that you will be constantly touching, such as shift knobs. It WILL start to rub off. If you can, pick up a compressor adn tank with a small paint gun and spray it. It will look better and last longer.

i used the rattle can clear on all my parts and i have no trubble at all.
it hasnt chipped or rubed off. i have my door handles painted too and i have one scuff mark but its from my keys. the only thing i dont like is that it isnt 100% clear it did put a yellow tint to it but you barley notice and i have 5-7 coats of clear on it. i have had it now for 5 months. im impressed. same thing with all paints it all in the prep.
p.s. i used duplicolor high temp clear

When I repainted my 4runner several years ago, I painted some interior pieces with the same paint and clear coat. That worked out the best of any thing that I have used over the years. Had problems with the rattle can stuff yellowing then chipping.

if you're using rattle can to paint them than use rattle can to clear them. automotive clear is not going to bond very well with the rattle can paint and you'll probably get a bunch of bull's eyes, lifting, and other chemical problems.
