Does anyone know of a flexplate that is either already made or will fit an auto tC? Looking to keep the auto tranny till it eventually goes out before i go manual and was looking to loose some rotational force for autocross. Any help appreciated, thanks.

I know cars, but I, personally, have never heard of a flexplate. Remind me what it is, and maybe I can help you track one down.

Its like the flywheel, but its for autos.

isn't it an optional part? to help lower the stall speed of the tq-converter?

I dunno i would just rather have an aftermarket one instead of messing with the stock one.

Flex plates are for auto's and have very little material to start with, I haven't heard of any being made lighter weight. You should look in to a better torque converter. Flywheels have lots of rotating mass and can be made into light weight because they usually have good amount of weight to them anyway. stock flexplate may weight 3lbs give or take, flywheels (used in manuals) vary in weight the stock tc one weighs 18lbs. Flywheel serve as a connection point between the engine and the transmission through the pressure plate, clutch disk, and flywheel surface. Flexplates bolt directly to the crank and to the torque converter. I wish I had pictures to show you the diffrence. The best way to lose ratational force is to buy lightweight racing wheels.
