Anyone know where to get specs for shocks/struts? I would like to look at dampening rate and rebound of different ones to compare them. Or is this a stupid question?
I would like to look at the difference between TRD's and Tokico HP's(blues) and make an educated decision rather then just on people opinion that has no basis.

nobody knows anything? So everyone just buys shocks by the name?

No clue on the dampening rate. Spring rate yes.

appreciate the response. I have springs I am just looking for struts/shocks to go with them.
From what I've seen, shocks are a little limited for our cars. Basically you have three name brands: TRD, Koni, and Tokico. Koni are the most expensive then the TRDs and Tokico's are generally the cheaper of the three (unless you find good deals on ebay or something). For all 4 you're looking at around $500 and up.

i understand there are only a few companies that make them. I am trying to get some more info on them other then their overview that they give on their websites.

Are any of them damper adjustable? On my friend's Maxima, he has Tokico Illumina shocks that have knobs on the top that you can adjust bound/rebound with.
You want to match the shock to the spring for best performance.

from what I have read and heard most adjustable shocks are crap.

If you want adjustable dampening, get the Tein SSP Coilovers with the EDFC.

i guess I worded it wrong. The shocks aren't crap but the adjustments are crappy. I have read that on some adjustable shocks the "softest" setting isn't really the softest and so on and so on.
I am not looking for adjustable shocks I just want to have some data to compare for the shocks available.
