so ... I'm not sure if I should be proud, or if its something I should just forget...
I'm driving north on memorial on my way to my parents house, jammin along to my Sean Paul, windows down, sunroof open cus its a beautiful night out, when I see two cars make rather aggressive merges into my lane and pull up on me rather fast. As I get to 31st and Memorial, the one behind directly behind me flashes lights at me. I turn right onto 31st, he follows. The other guy took off down memorial. He matches speed, 40mph. They're lookin over, got that laughin "We're better than you look".(I'll leave racial comments out bc I don't want to seem racist in any way.) So I do the "Sup" and wave thing, and the guy points, taps his gas couple times. I drop into third, take off. Had pulled on him by the time we hit 60-65, cut into his lane to get around a truck. He drops off into oncoming traffic and tries to catch up. I go ahead and floor it to 80 and let off. I keep on going past Mingo bc I didn't want him following me to my parent's house, he north turns on Mingo. I turn around, catch up to him on 21st. He turns right, I go left.

so ... to start with, I know street racing is stupid, safety issues and traffic violations galor. I know I know I know, but is this a noteworthy kill? Was a late 90s Buick Riviera, pretty damn sure it wasn't the s/c model, that thing does what? 240hp?
For me, personally, this is the first v6 I've come across that even wanted to go. I know buicks are known for their speed or powr, but they're quick. My mom's GranSport was pretty beefy.

The older buicks would kick some arse. The grand national was one quick car as well as a lot of the older gransports.

Yeah, street racing is not good, especially in that area of tulsa you are talking about. I know it is tempting when someone acts that way.. but if a guy in moms riviera pulled up on me like that thinking he was better than me I think I would be laughing too hard to worry about it :P

The issue with Buicks...besides being gay...... ;)........is that they are really heavy so high HP is needed to even move it........not super noteworthy but still a nice footnote since it was a powerful V6..........

I've had a lot more retarded runs since then. I couldn't help but notice that Sheep couldn't just keep posting on new threads, he had to bring back old forgotten ones. :pilot:

I really wouldnt mind finding an 87 grand national to make a track car out of. They took a 3500 lb car and turned mid 13's with it. the car was rated at 245 BHP with 355 ft lbs of tq, so it could run taller gears on the track due to the ability to create power at a lower rpm. Very cool cars. But the sad thing is that they ended them in 87 with the Grand national and GNX. Since then it has been rivieras and other blue haired rides :P Of course, there is a pimp or two driving one around

oh yea ... grand nationals are a whole other beast. buick embrassed their elder buyers and went soft ... I think they may have to make an image change before long bc their buyers are getting too old to drive :pilot:

I enjoyed your story...I'm glad you made him look like an idiot.

Nothing urks me more than having some punk rev their engine at me on the street. But I've learned that giving them the "HA, you want me to race THAT! hahaha...whatever loser..." look pisses them off just as bad as actually beating them. I think it makes them feel stupid.

What I really love is when they speed off like a wreckless lunatic weaving in and out of traffic, then they get stuck behind someone and they have agony of watching me pass them by slowly....hahahaha (then comes the "hahaha...loser" look again)

He drops off into oncoming traffic and tries to catch up.

that part really really bothered me, probably only reason I even remembered it the next day. what if he went head on into someone. 60-70mph running head on into 30-40mph vehicle.... there's not going to be a whole lot left there. and no telling what would have happened to me ... when they cut into the oncoming traffic I'd stopped accellerating leveled off my speed, I thought it was through. There wasnt a length between us anymore. Had he cut back over into my lane at that moment he would have taken out my rear driver's side....

meh
the whole buzz of it all is over for me, it kinda scares me the more I think about what could have happened bc we were both pretty stupid ... and they were especially stupid ...

I seem to give that look alot since most people want to race in the middle of rush hour traffic with it raining......dumbasses......
