Trying to see what CF brand i want to go with. I've used VIS before and it was pretty good. Wondering what other people are using. Anyone have any brand that faded or cracked? Been trying to find CF pieces, but they're hard to come across, being either no longer made or out of stock.......

vis
seibon
carbon creations
bbist
ground dynamic
fast scions.com
raceing solutions.com
these places/companies are a few that offer carbon fiber parts.
I am partial to seibon.
you will have no problem with fadeing or cracking if you follow the car instructions. and if the part has a uv clear coat on it.
in this case the term " you get what you paid for" is true.
vis and seibon are the most exspensive but they two companies that guarentee fitment with little to no modiciation. that doesn't require you to take to a experience body shop for fitment.

The VIS hood i had was good quality, but it was back in 06 and had a huge weave, when i was used to seeing tightly woven cf. A friend had an AIT hood an it cracked within two weeks......I was trying to get the best combo from a company.......wanting a hood/hatch combo, but not sure about fitment.

i say seibon, my hood is beautiful, and the hatch from what i hear is awesome fit ment too. i highly recomend them. look around at a few scion parts venders on the forums most of them carry seibon hoods and hatchs I am sure they can cut you a deal if you buy both.

The racing solutions engine cover I had awhile back turned yellow after 2 months... and I was treated like shit... and carbon creations is extreme dimensions... dont deal with those two...

Ive had bad experience with seibon hoods in the past, with a 350z I helped build, sounds like they fixed thier issues though. Probally changed suppliers.

racingsolution.com = NO!
i ordered a CF engine cover, and was dicked around with for 6 months, he kept claiming they were on backorder, and never updated his site to say so...so his dumbass kept taking orders for parts he didn't have, or know when he was getting. I'm glad I cancelled the order, because like keith said, I've heard terrible things. The guy did admit to me that he bought the engine covers from china...and ebay shows us the astounding quality of Chinese parts.
The best CF comes from france, in case you guys were wondering.

so are they bad for everything on your car or just certain pieces? I was looking at maybe getting a lip kit from them in the future, but from what you say they have bad customer services

I got my carbon fiber rear lip spoiler from racingsolution, ordered it on Monday, got it on Friday  I'll definitely buy from them again. Brian seems like a really good guy. Sucks to hear that someone had a bad experience with them..

On the carbon fiber lip kit subject........ Does cf spider(crack) when rocks hit it, or is it pretty durable on the front of a car?
i think i m the only one on the planet that has had a bad experience with vis.
bought a hood from them and it was all dented and it was yellow within 4 months. prolly just a bunk hood fro the get go, but nonetheless cost me about 5 bills.
got rid of it and got a used MotorFX hood. damn thing is perfect. :mrg: next plan is the CF hatch from racing solution.

I wouldn't recommend AIT Racing for CF btw

Got mine from www.viniati.com (http://www.viniati.com)
Best place i have ever done business with. They kept me informed about everything that was going on. They said that the hood was lost but the people that do there shipping sat it aside and totally forgot to ship. They really busted there ass open for leaving my hood in shipping and not doing anything with it. The shipping place had it to me the next day after finding it. It came all the way from california. Man that must have costed a shit load.

I am never a big fan of EBAY. They are just horrible about everything. Things take to long to get to you, there the wrong product. But different colors on c/f. I have only seen the regular and silver. the other colors would be interesting to see but never heard of orange c/f lol

I got it from Seibon, each hatch fits slightly different but they are the best match to OEM. One recommendation though, it may cost more but go through a store to get it. These hatches have a tendency of breaking during shipping. (It took three attempts to get a useable one)

pre warning, if anyone was looking into getting the carbon creations carbon fiber fenders, they need prep work to put on the car. the first set that was on my car were the first fenders for the tc, i did buy them used but the fitment was really good, i just bought a new set and they are different, they have sides that come down that need to be grinded down, and they were heavier then the first set. just a warning.

I haven't had any recent complaints of fitment on the RS1 Carbon Fiber kits. I can tell you that any aftermarket part won't "fit perfect" .. That is to be expected.. but the quality of the kit is great and you will be happy with it

I've heard of them and have seen a few pictures of tcs running them, but not many. I think that company is mostly known for their lighting mods. I've seen it before and have thought about gettin it too since I got alot of CF stuff already, but 250 seems kinda pricey. Specially since your like me and already have the Injen one.

Does anyone have any experience clear coating CF hoods for the UV protection? I'm getting my hood soon and was planning on clearing it.I was told to be careful of sanding scrtches possible showing through from the preping.I paint cars for a living but never painted carbon fiber before.Any sugestions from anyone that has?

should be the same concept. i had my body shop at the dealer i work at clear my kaminari hood as soon as i got it installed. they just wet sanded it cleaned and cleared it.
after 2 yrs in starting to get some whitish spots but i need to clay it or buff it and it goes away.

I had my hood painted and cleared. I have the Seibon VIS II hood..... The hood is about 2 years old and still looks brand new...
I have seen CF hoods not clear coated and they turn yellow, crack and fade within a year or so.

so having a lot of communication problems with the below site and still waiting on a part. how long could it take to ship something from CA to IN. GEEZE!
http://shop.retro-spec.net/category.sc?categoryId=22 (http://shop.retro-spec.net/category.sc?categoryId=22)
anyone know of other sites that are well customer friendly and responsive with a range of CF parts?? the products i have received from here are great just their customer service is VERY horrible.

With them, you will just have to be patient. Production is usually 10-14 days and then shipping tacks on a few more days....depending on the size or demand.
:/ sucks, but it is worth the wait.
Maybe someone can step their game up, but until then.....patience must be the virtue.

the side things are cool just almost a waste if you dump your bags and smack them when you hit the ground....im iffy on it.

In the war for Carbon Fiber supremacy i would go with VIS. I have the EVO hood on my TC for three years now. I only wax twice a year. No cracks, no fading, just beautiful CF. I know it is more expensive, but why spend money on a product your not proud of. I want people to think that i have a pampered Scion. Take care of your Tc and she will take care of you.

I'm getting a warning from Mozilla about TopShopCarbon....
...makes me wonder if they're legit and not phishing for financial information and passwords.
I don't think their prices will be as competitive as C12. Although I wish C12 could improve their shipping reputation.
*Update*
No C-Pillars yet, although they should arrive this week. Ordered on the 6th of Jan. :icon_wacko:
anybody have any experience with them? Pricing?!?

experience with topcarbon or C12
C12 does need to improve the shipping skills...although i thnk it is just how long it really takes them to process an order and make it.
boost happy

Some of you have probably seen this, but this is my center gauge panel from a while back. Personally, I think the pillar gauges look gaudy as hell and wanted somewhat of a stealth setup. I fabbed the panel myself and had planned on making a second panel, but sold the car before that happened.
