I am so pissed that I no longer own rare car which was the case with the tC1, I cannot believe Toyota is using the Scion tC in Latin America and Middle East as a Toyota... wow, I guess this will be the last Scion I will ever own...

This is nothing new...
The xD is over in europe as a Toyota Urban Cruiser and it comes all wheel drive its also called the Toyota Ist second gen cause the xA was the Toyota Ist 1st gen... The xB is called the Toyota Rukus in Australia and the Toyota Corolla Rumion in europe
Scion is strictly a American brand...

I am aware, I was just specifying the tC because the first generation was not produced for any other country just the United States, which makes it a rare car in other countries. But they dropped the ball with the second gen

I kinda feel the opposite on it. I always wanted to do a "JDM" conversion but with nothing to source from I couldn't. I think it'd be cool to see a Zelas conversion.

I like the Zelas name. Seems to have a better feel than just a couple letters

Im looking at this as a positive. I read that people in japan are doing USDM like exchanging the jap. scion emblems with the USDM versions and doing all that stuff im too lazy to get into right now. If i ever get the 2nd gen i'd change the emblems from tC to Zelas (if someone has said this already sorry to tired to read)

Has nothing to do with price... Other countries have different safety standards.

I think this is great actually, gives us a more worldwide market, as if the aftermarket world for scion wasn't already huge tho, more choices from more respectable brands never hurt =]

it never hurts, creates endless possibilities for the car. Looks like the Scion has better options in it too.

So because your car is not as rare in other countries you will not own another? How often are you in other countries? How often are you there with your car?
Sorry, the Tc being available in other countries has no affect on how great the car is. Back when I got my car it was rare enough to see another one driving around, now they seem to be all over the place. I liked it being rare here, but it doesn't take away from how great the vehicle is.

xb has always been branded Toyota overseas. I think it helped us tremendously as far as rare aftermarket parts you can only get from Japan etc.
