Since apparently we can't seem to keep the almighty debate out of the photo thread, I'm creating this thread for those who feel the need to dish it out.

So please, by all means, debate.

*And please, for the sake of the moderators, keep it clean, keep it fair, and don't cause too much trouble.

Lol love it. "too much trouble" that's the only thing we all seem to be good at.

They both have their advantages. I personally am going with bags.

I am concerned about maintenance and the softness of the suspension, however since I haul people around alot on move shit at work I need the quick up and down action. I can respect a static slammed car, but I can't afford to roll hard as some. "oh well its all about how you drive" that statement bugs me, i dont care how careful you are, at one point if you miss a hidden pot hole and fuck shit up youre boned. I cant afford to deal with that kinda shit. I like the drive low, park lower stand point and to be able to not fuck shit up going over steep inclines.

There is no right or wrong, better or worse. Just personal preference. I could turn around and defend coils, but it's just not for me.

As long as the wheel fitment is straight air or static, that person is rolling atleast a lil hard. That gets my respect :)

What does where you live have to do with it? Semi-trucks run air bags all year round everywhere. With air you have to maintain it properly and if you are cold enough run anti-freeze in the system like the truckers use for their air brakes.

Both look legit, air ride just helps you avoid some of the scraped and for some of us would mean you can allow their spouse drive the car when they are used to driving an Expedition.

That is not the best of both worlds..... you can not raise the front to avoid obstacles. If you want the best of both worlds you would have air bag on coil over struts in front resulting in similar performance and having the ability to adjust ride height with the push of a button.

The air bags in the rear only is not an ideal set up for performance. If you have the helper bag in there to help when the car is loaded down that is one thing. If you have just air shocks no spring or bag in place that is dangerous. If you have rear bags with regular shock start shopping for air bags in front. Depending on what coil over you have you could get Universal Air Aero Bags for the front for under $400.

i have bc racing type br with monroe air shocks in the rear on independent lines with AirLift compressor and switches and it rides great with adjustability for weight in the rear or makng it sit on the tires

KatieMayhem

I never even put the rear perches in to begin with...
The way the rear sits without perches, I had to raise the front to get rid of the rake and small wheel gap.

KatieMayhem

Nope, they're pretty well broken in...
I've had them on my car since September, and they were on another xB before that...
They just don't drop as low as I want to sit.

i read in another website a good idea. air shocks to go along with your coilover springs in the back. then you should be able to fix your problem. im thinking of doing this once i get wheels
