SO I am thinking of buying a header for my 2008 tC. I have been doing some looking around and some reading but I haven't read anything about the JVT Header. Has anyone used this header and have some opinions on it.
I want to spend less then $250 dollars on a header and I just don't know which one to buy.

you got to decide if you want a 4-1 header or a 4-2-1 header. The 4-2-1 headers usually go for 300+
it all depends if you want more top end power (4-1) or more mid-range power (4-2-1)

I guess I would say mid range because the tC doesn't rev very high. So mid-range gains would probably be better.

the jvt header is the same as pretty much all 4-1 headers of its design. there is pretty much only 4 dif types of headers for tc. and three are 4-1 just designed dif. they have megan (which is cheap and would be my choice for 4-1), then the DC which is the same design as the jvt and strup and ebay headers, the alpha werks which arent made anymore, then there is the 4-2-1 made by weapon r and tsudo. which are known as the MMW (monster motorworks header). i would def say go with the megan header for 4-1. good quality and they arent as raspy as the jvt design 4-1. and they run for 195 shipped with the scikotics discount from wesellcarparts.com.

Awesome thanks for the input. I was leading towards getting the Megan Header. I know when I change the header I will get rasp but if you want some extra power you have to put up with some things right?

yeap. its either sound or performance. an extra resonator wont really hurt you. but yes u will have rasp. i want both. i want to feel like i have headers but dont sound like it. and thats what my car sounds like now. stock headers because i got really no rasp at all. real clean sound. love it. just rasp sucks balls. u will see.

do you have any other exhaust stuff on your car? I would say get a custom mid-pipe made with a nice big resonator put in it. or if you already have a cat-back exhaust, just have an exhaust shop weld in a larger resonator.
Keep in mind, all headers are going to cause you to lose in low end horsepower. Its just the nature of the beast with the toyota engine.

I currently have the TRD exhaust on my car.

yea i beg to differ on the loss in low in power with all headers. i just put the 4-2-1 on my car and i feel more low end power than i did with the factory header. now also i feel a lot more power once i reach the mid and high range because of the header but i feel more low power than i did before. still got a lot of pick up. i guess its just my setup or something. its awesome.
