i know a stock stick tC will run a 15.8 what about an auto? tonight a friend and i went for a run, because i want to know if my car can keep up with a stock tC... all he has is a WR ram air... he beat me by a car... i have megan racing header, megan racing down pipe, no cat, magnaflow cat back, WR torque damper, fujita CAI. 19" rims and a huge stereo. other then smaller/lighter wheels and ditching the stereo, any way to make my car keep up with a STOCK car?

Most auto tC's run a 16.4 to a 16.8 stock, buti have header, s-pipe, 2.5" exhaust and my last time out i ran a 16.0 at 87.92. it takes a bit of work to run in the 15's for us.

so what youre saying is, even with all my weight, my car really is fairly quick... for what it is? huh... :cop:

i didnt realize the autos were a full second behind the stick. i guess i did alright with all my added weight then. i dont drive a race car, its a show car, but everyone always calls me out, and i go for my own grins lol. i was just curious how slow i really am.

thanks guys!

(ps, street racing is bad : p :4robot: )

yea my fastest time with intake and exhaust with a stick was 16.1 and thats in 90 degree weather with spare and everthing. not too bad. my friends have I/H/E and their fastest was 15.9 and 15.8 so i dont think i did too bad. a stock spec package was running 15.7. now im running I/H/E , ETD and lightweight crank pulley. cant wait to see what i can get it down to in the cold. now see the problem with our times is we couldnt catch good traction for shit so that was def a prob. good traction and what i got cant wait to see how i do.

Keep in mind that whoever you were racing might not be able to drive very well. While i was on nitrous i beat a few manual tcs but some of them absolutely destroyed me.

I remember one car in particuluar. I raced it, killed it three times. Then the driver and passenger switched and we were dead even.

what size shot were you running? any tips for installing it? ive actually got a kit sitting about 3 inches from me. i plan on installing the bottle tomorrow and the rest when a friend is free. he has spray on his turboed SER Spec-V... im kinda scared to install and use it, honestly. i dont think ill run higher then a 35 shot, 50 if he has a good argument, lol.

i was running a 55 dry. I didnt exactly feel safe doing it. If youre running wet, go 50-55. if youre dry, i wouldnt bother.

As far as tips go, keep the hose(s) between the solenoid(s) and the nozzle as short as possible. Mine was 16inches i think, maybe a foot.

Put a switch and relay on the power wire. then you can use another power source to trip the relay through a push button.

And if you didnt understand what i just said above, get help.

lol, it is a wet kit. the electronics i got, its the hacking my fuel line and allowing the nitrous into my engine that bother me.
:thanks:

Nothing wrong with that, i love racing my auto. Sorry if i got :offtopic: but i don't find racing an auto any less cool than a stick, almost no lag if you are turbo'd.

I go to Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ - one of the lowest raceways, so yeah being down low definitely helps.

Alot of it has to do with what altitude your at, Even tho were fuel injected, At a higher altitude the air is thiner so your motor is starving for air, Shure you can open it up with a CAI or Short Ram but nothing can substitute thick sea level air. And Tust me it makes a BIG differance

Nitrous is a good substitute for High altitude! just use it everywhere you go!

My best so far is 16.3 with just a fujita CAI, prevoius time was 16.9 stock on a 5spd. Traction is a problem, I just put the torque dampner on yesterday, will probably take her back to the track in a week or two.
