I purchased a kicker amp, 10" sub and wiring kit and it should arrive soon.
I know there is a RCA out on the back of my stock pioneer radio and to run the power from the battery and the ground cable but I need help with the ... Not sure what you call it but it's the wire(s) that tell the amp to be on when the car is on.
Can anyone tell me where this line/wire is located so I don't have to go cutting into random wires to test?
Also, any strategies or tutorial videos for this procedure would be greatly appreciated.
in the back of your head unit, there are a few harnesses, you want the harness that has the following colors: blue, grey, white/black, green, black. there are other wires in this harness, but look for those all near each other. you will tag the "remote turn on wire" to the grey wire, this is your accessory wire that turns on with the key.
run the remote wire and RCAs down the passenger side of the car and your power wire down the other side of the car, this eliminates any possibility of getting engine whine. get a few self tapping screws for your ground wire and drill it in near where the seat belts are mounted, but make sure you look on the other side of where you are drilling so you dont drill into the gas tank or something else important!
luckily, your car is very easy to work on, so you shouldnt have much trouble. hope this helped! good luck!

Good advice! Thanks man.
Now when you say 'tag' this wire you mean splice the wire (or use one of those clamp things) and run another wire off of that one to the amp, corect? Just want to make sure.
Thanks again man!
that is exactly what i mean! :Banane03:

Everything went awesome.
It was the grey wire just like you said.
Managed to do the entire install in under 3 hrs.
The sound is incredible.
Thanks again.
