Hey folks, I just posted a request for help deciding between an Xd and a Xb over in the Xb2(round) forum. Just to save typing, I would really like your opinions on this. Please check out the posting there and let me know.

Honestly it depends on if you need the larger xB2, do you plan on hauling three to four full size adults around town?

Thanks for the response. I probably will not be regularly hauling around full sized adults but, I am a local youth pastor so I do carry some teens around sometimes. I guess I am really kinda worried about the gas mileage. If in my regular(just me) commute each day I am getting 20mpg, I wil not be happy.

I'm 6 ft tall and I have no problems riding in the back of a xD, my hair was touching the ceiling through so if you have riders over 6 ft tall then you I might recommend going with the xB.

Xd will give you more gas mileage, but xB2 will give you more room. Which do you want more basically? I mean gas mileage is not that much difference between the two and vice versa room is not that much difference between the two.

Positive thing about the xD. Toyota is moving the 1.8l 2zr-fe to more of a flagship position. It's now it three of Toyota's most popular models. The 2.4, (forgive me for not knowing the engine designation,) from the xB g2/tC g1 is being replaced by a simaler engine. I belive a DOHC/2.5/I4/NA, but don't quote me. Meaning even though there are more parts for the 2.4 now, It will still be a short lived engine. The 1.8 has only been in USDM production since '08. I forsee a snowball of aftermarket parts for the 1.8. I mean c'mon they put it in a Corolla. Won't be long before someone goes ape-shiz on this engine. We all know what Corolla junkies have done to Toyota I4's in the past.

The 2.4 is the 2AZ-FE and the 2.5 is the 2AR-FE. Also the 10th gen Corolla also uses the 2.4 in the sporty models.

I'm still waiting to see what has to be done to put the 1AR (2.7L from the Venza) into a gen2 tC.

YO ! One can only hope that they start farting out parts for the 1.8 soon. It has been 2 plus yaers since the engine has been on the market and still not much out there. I mean, hey I cant complain, I drive a xD and love it.

Remember the Gen1 xb didnt start seeing many engine mods until 2 to 3 years after production. So there is always hope.
