may be an old issue, but has anyone else had to have their camshaft gear assembly replaced? took the b to the dealership and they say its the camshaft timing sensor and i know on SL there is a 6+ page thread going on about this. i am gonna take it to the other dealership in town if they dont wanna claim that its this part and see what they say. my b has 56000 miles on it and the gear assembly is covered by the 60000 warranty so i am kinda freakin out a lil. my luck would be that they replace this sensor and at 60001 mile they say its the assembly. just curious if anyone else had this happen?

I had mine replaced, i think it was at 30,000. took them a day and half and have not had a problem since. I now have 79,000 mile on it.

Good thing about it they gave me a rental to beat for free.

mine was a bit more serious, 28k the lights came on, rolled into the dealer the next morning, motor smokin, got a new head outa the deal (100 miles after the lights came on) took them 8 hours, I've read in that 6+ pages on SL that some people are on their 3rd or 4th set of gears
