Hello Everyone,
I am considering the purchase of an XD as a commuter vehicle. I am interested in one that is an AUTO and I may consider an RS 1.0. What are you folks feelings about the XD? MPG? Power? Comfort? What things do you like about the XD and dislike?

Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I currently have a 2006 Xb Auto, that my teenage daughter drives. When I was driving it, I liked the MPG and interior room but, it was lacking in the power dept.

comparing to the 06 xb, yea xds are faster and stronger. interior room is a lot more spacious than people think.

having owned a 05 xB previously and now the xD.

I miss my xB, but the xD does have more power, interior room is relatively the same as xB, gas mileage for me is about the same. Could be better but I play around alot with the throttle.

My only dislike is lack of aftermarket support.

I own a 2010 xd and I love it. It IS an auto and if youve owned a car with something bigger that a 1.8 it can feel a bit slugish. Ive done some minor this to help it along though. A nice cold air intake and exhaust made it feel a bit better. THough hey Im not complaning. I dont have any problems get up passed freeway speeds ! As far as space goes, its not bad. The overall MPG isnt bad either. All in all its a great little car.

xD, Cube, Soul, their are a few good choices to consider. If I could back in time I would have purchased something other then my xD.

And KIA Stay away from them. had same issue with both my parents cars and they both have Kias. I now am going to be rebuilding atleast part of my mom's engine.

Well first of al, Kia reminds me of fat gerbils in jumpsuits rapping. Secondly, the cube is just down right BUTT UGLY !!! That leaves you with the xD, which makes me think of little deviant demons ! I choose the little deviants over ugly fat gerbils any day.

Short wheel base creates a bumpy ride, 4 speed auto, lack of interior room (I believe it is just as small if not smaller on the inside than an xA) , road noise, lack of build quality (poor fitting window seals) and a couple of other issues as well. The OP needs to show us a dollar figure of what he is willing to spend, if Mike is going the preowned route their a good amount of other cars out there that could work for him...unless he is just stuck on the looks of the xD.

I know several owners of both the Kia Forte and the Kia Soul and none of them have had nothing but praise for their cars. Kia like Hyundai has only been decent brand in say the past 2-3 years.

As for Kia let them get about 50K miles on them then ask them.

My parents liked their cars and they were good cars until about 50K miles.

As for your issues with the xD- 4 speed auto can't help you there, but the trannys are made for economy not performance, Interior room I say is close to the 1st gen XB, road noise yes i agree but most cheap cars have this I just turn up the radio lol, build quality and window seals. mine are fine so maybe you got defect. But I can't say for sure. You are not satisfied and it's not the car you want so I could see you wanting to change. But for a KIA Boooo lol.

KAZUMA - Parts are coming, but headers are taking forever, no forced induction kits, no intake manifolds, some intakes and exhaust and suspension options. some shifter and a smaller pulleys. I would prefer lightened pulleys not reduced sizing. performance wise there is nothing really for the vehicle. compared to like Honduh and all.

I got a 2010 XD. I went from driving a full size ford truck to the XD. Car had good performance. I have the 5 speed (love it) put a Fujita F5 cold air intake on it, sounds like its going to take off at times but i like it. And the rims are the same as the TC's.
