All of us in Oregon know about the Civil War game between the U of O Ducks and the OSU Beavers.

This year it is on Saturday December 4th. The Beavs will be hosting. Reser Stadium in Corvallis.

History

The game was first played in 1894 and has been contested 113 times as of 2009. The University of Oregon holds a series lead of 57-46-10. The game was not contested in 1900, 1901, 1911, 1943, and 1944 and two games were played in 1896 and 1945. The first reference to the "Civil War" name was in 1929 and came into common use in 1937. Prior to that, it was called the "Oregon Classic" or the "State Championship Game."
The game is usually played in even-numbered years at the home field of Oregon State University in Corvallis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_War_%28college_football_game%29#cite_note-osualum-0) (since 1954, Reser Stadium (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reser_Stadium), formerly Parker Stadium) and in odd-numbered years, at the home field of the University of Oregon in Eugene (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugene,_Oregon) (since 1967, Autzen Stadium (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autzen_Stadium)). Seven games have been played at Multnomah Stadium (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PGE_Park) (now PGE Park) in Portland (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portland,_Oregon): in 1908, 1917, 1933, 1934, 1938, 1950, and 1952. The 1912 and 1913 games were played at a neutral site in Albany (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albany,_Oregon) following a riot after the 1910 game.
From 1997 through 2006 the winner of the game was the home team. The streak was snapped in 2007, when Oregon State University beat the University of Oregon at Autzen Stadium 38-31 in double overtime. In 2008, the Ducks returned the favor in Corvallis by beating OSU 65-38 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_War_%28college_football_game%29#cite_note-hbd-1). The streak of visiting teams winning was snapped at two games in 2009 when the Ducks won 37-33 in Eugene.
From 1959 to 1961, the Platypus Trophy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Platypus_Trophy) was awarded to the winning school. The trophy was lost for 40 years and found in 2005, and beginning with the 2007 game, was awarded to the winning school's alumni association (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alumni_association).
Other athletic contests (most notably, men's and women's basketball (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_War_%28college_football_game%29#cite_note-2)) between the schools are also referred to as Civil War (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_War_%28college_rivalry%29) games.

Articles from Both sides:

DUCKS:
all Preview:
In his first year as head coach of the Oregon Ducks football team last season, Chip Kelly led the team to a 10-3 record, a Pac-10 conference championship and a berth in the 2010 Rose Bowl. While the Ducks lost their bowl game to the Ohio State Buckeyes, there's no reason to believe that they can't finish on top in the upcoming season.
Quarterback Nate Costa will need to step in to replace last year's QB, Jeremiah Masoli, but will enter with an impressive cast of surrounding players. Running back LaMichael James ran for 1,546 yards and 14 touchdowns last year, and enters the 2010 season as a potential All-American. On the defensive side, the Ducks will look for a major contribution from senior linebacker Casey Matthews, who logged 81 tackles, three sacks and one interception in 2009 to help Oregon's defense to a number one ranking against conference rivals.
Oregon starts its season with rather easy games against New Mexico, Tennessee and Portland State, but the year ends with the traditional Civil War game against Oregon State - one of the oldest rivalries in college football.

BEAVERS:
2010 Oregon State Football:
Momentum has been building for the Oregon State Beavers football program. The team has played in four consecutive bowl games, finished the season ranked among the top 25 in three of the last four years and tied for second place in the Pac-10 the last two seasons. The Beavers will need an added push if they're to beat out their rivals and defending conference champions, the University of Oregon, for the Pac-10 title and the "Civil War" rivalry game.
But 2010 just might be the year for Oregon State. Running back Jacquizz Rodgers is perhaps the team's most promising talent since Chad Ochocinco left the club in 2001. Rodgers rushed for 1,440 yards and an astounding 21 touchdowns last season. As Rodgers' begins his 2010 campaign, he is already regarded as the Pac-10's leading candidate for the Heisman Trophy. Rodgers will be running behind an O-line fortified by the potential All-Conference center, Alex Linnenkohl. Finally, any team with a kicker like Oregon State's Justin Kahut, who made 22 out of 27 field goals last season, including a 50-yarder, has an edge in close games.
Traditionally, Oregon State will play Oregon in the last week of the season - potentially a decisive game for a conference championship.

I have already predicted a blow out for oregon. Oregon's defense will shut down Cam Newton and that's all auburn has. and their defense will not stop the high powered offense of Oregon.

and to where we should watch it. Who has the biggest TV? lol.
