Ok, I know we've all done it, we go on youtube and watch videos of the tC...But When I go and read the comments, it seems like everyone just hates the tC.. I cant seem to understand why.... Why do people think the tC is such a crappy car, when in no way in hell it is??? I'm kinda bored at work so i apologize if its a dumb thread...

But yea, I was gonna get a newer SI, i'll admit it was a lil quicker than the tC, I really didnt feel to much of a difference.. I honestly hated the interior of the SI though, it was really weird...Idk I guess it just gets on my nerves that the tC and Scion for that matter gets so much hate over nothing....

you can tell anyone that has civic SI that if they took their engine and hooked it up to a tC's axle-nut, they're entire engine wouldn't produce enough torque to loosen the damn nut. So, our axle-nuts are more powerful than their engines. Which is kinda funny, because half the bolts on the damn civic requires more torque than it's own engine produces. WEAK!

The SI's are nice looking, but hp ain't shit without torque. And if you dump $10k in to a tC, you get a 9 second car. If you put $10k in a civic SI, you also get a 9-second car...with another car's motor.

How can you brag about a car when you have to do motor swaps for power? All you're bragging about is the body style, and sorry, but Honda is losing in that dept. The new accords are ugly as sin.

Anyone that trashes Scions is ignorant, and they're probably driving a classic hand-me-down Honda....they make me laugh because I know how sad they are.

Same here I love my tC as well, With that said okay the Civic over the years has become a legend just for what it is and what ppl can make them do with a swap to like a K22. I think the Mugen Si style looks good and yeah I may be wronge but it's 189 hp w/139 tq but here is the kicker the stick is a 6 speed trany. So if you drop that motor infront of our 5 speed drive tran I don't think it would pull near as hard as what we have.As for ppl hating on youtube I have saw some tC's between 300whp and 400whp running 10 to 12 sec 1/4 mile passes That is haulin a$$. Anyway you look at it the tC is the bigest bang for the buck out there so if you fall into another crowd then the tC may be something to hate on cause if you know your s**t then you know that the tC is one hell of a platform to build off of.

well i was lazy and didnt take the time to read everything on this post but i know the reason most ppl hated on my tC(when i had one) was because i had a proclaimed "Factory Freak." I personally don't think its true but i did beat alot of cars that i shouldn't have ie. GSR & LS Integra, Si EP & EK Civics, EG Civic with LS swap, RSX(Base Model and half a car behind Type S) Mazada 6, i stayed next to a 300zx in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear(left me by a car and a half in 4th) Corolla Type S ans XRS, Sentra SE-R Spec V, and thats all i can really think of right now. But yea i was just as shocked as those drivers when i would take them by a car or fender. I honestly have no clue how i did it seeing how they all have more HP then i did but i did it, never got to take the car to the track tho :(

Oh yea i forgot to mention that my car was 100% stock i still had the stock airbox intake.

Well first of all I used to be a Honda Accord fan, I owned an 86Accord Sedan LX-i and a 96 Accord Coupe EX-L, totalled the second one btw at 140mph and that car saved my life, so yay for Honda in that aspect. As far as my 86 goes i give Honda credit again because that car went over 200K and it still runned after 20 years, and it had been wrecked a lot too, I have never been a Civic fan even tho i was a Honda fan and the reason is because i see the civic weak and RICE!!!!!!! and what really killed it for Honda is the fact that their cars are made in the US and not in Japan like they used to so boooo to Honda on that plus the quality for the price has gone down as well... too much money for an american made car hahaha.

Scion is something new, and the design of the tC is so gorgeous, inside and out and others hate it simply because theirs suck!, for example the Civic interior SUCKS!!!!!!!!! thats why i did not buy it, eventho it has 197 ponies under the engine, but the torque sucks even more, we have better handling.

tC = I/H/E can keep up with a stock Si, it will not beat it but it will show some balls, and at the end the tC wins due to the cut off speed of the Si (121 MPH)... The challenge is when they mod their cars. If you see my signature I got smoked by an Si with just an intake.

But not matter what car is faster the tC kicks everyone elses ass when it comes to looks, and that's what counts for me :D

lol i agree. just think the si is a beefed up version of a civic. the motor is a lil bigger but yet smaller than ours. it is built as a performance engine. same for the matrix xrs, it is built as a performance engine (i mean the older one with the high compression 1.8L) the tc is a referred to as a affordable car not a race car. now what we do with that potential is another story lol. if the tc had a performance version. i am willing to bet it would smoke the hell outta the xrs and si. if i had to make a performance tc it would have a completely redesigned engine that would kick ass so all civic si owners can kiss my ass im only a few sec behind and about 6k richer becuase i bought a cheaper car lol.

Base Price
Si: $21,110
tC: $17,620
tC w/ trd supercharger: Roughly $21,000

Engine size and Horsepower
Si: 2.0L 197hp
tC: 2.4L 162hp
tC w/ trd supercharger: 2.4L 200hp

I could go further, but I believe that the point is stated. The Si is basically a supercharged tC, but you still pay the extra $4K for the Si and get the same boost as you would in a supercharged tC.

So use this as justification when honda drivers start talkin bad about "skions". lol

not quite a s/c tc. when the tc is s/c it goes from 161hp to 200hp right. yes and a stock tc dynoes at 145 or so. u s/c that and go to 200whp. its 200whp not 200hp. so at the crank your going from roughly 161 to 220hp or so. an si is 197 at the crank prob dynoes at around 175-180whp. big dif in power there. so even then your getting more bang for your buck for the tc. so i would way rather spin 21000 for a s/c tc than 21000 for a si. shit u get a standard base tc. for 17,500 and take that extra 3500 and turbo it you will pushing a lot more than 200whp. so yea TC FTW!!!

Mustang dynos are some of the worst. They give readings all over the chart. That one was probably way off. I know someone here with an Auto tC with I/H/E that dynoed 175+ on a mustang dyno.. While another auto tC with I/H/E pulled 145 on a Dyno Dynamics.
