ok guys the tc window sticker says it has 161hp and 163tq. but when dynoed at the wheels we got about 140-145whp on an 07-08 model with about the same in tq correct. well when u check out the s/c it say will give u 40 hp go from 161-200hp. well often mis understood thats not wheel hp. if we do about the same reduction as before from crank to wheels isnt that only about 180whp if we are lucky from a s/c? has anyone dynoed a stock tc with the s/c on it before and after? because ppl might be thinking well im pushing about 230whp with the nst 9.5psi pulley and exhaust and what not when they are really only at about 200whp. idk just been bothering me. someone help me out.

I think that you have hit the nail on the head. Yes it sucks to find out later that the sticker they slap on the car is misleading on the power output. The whp is what counts not at the flywheel, I think they should spec it as whp. So i guess when it just says hp and not whp that means at the flywheel.
The good thing is that in eather case the tq number is higher. The tc is 161 hp w/164 tq where as with say a civic si its like 198 hp w/134 tq, so its tq number is about a third less than the hp and to me thats a bad thing. I may be wrong.

the s/c gives you 60whp - 200whp total, not 200 at the crank. They dyno anywhere from 195-207whp on 7psi. it's not a very efficient setup, but it's safe.

o ok thats pretty cool. so with 9.5 psi prob about 220whp maybe? and a catback and s/c intake by weapon r your looking at about 225whp-230?

Yeah but if you do stuff like add air (add the intake), you should put on additional fuel management and get tuned so you don't lean out.

yea i hear ya but cant do that unless your prepared to lose warranty unless u just pull that mug out if something happens. ya know

What? Dude - just get a PnP Wire harness then... I've plugged/unplugged my wire harness for my Emanage Ultimate more times than I've plugged in an ipod/mp3 player in my car!

yea good point your right. so if someone ran a s/c and had the trd reflash on the stock ecu and got a piggyback with the pnp harness got it tuned he would have a great deal more of power. but say had to get warranty work done he unplugged the piggyback and removed it the car would go back to the trd reflash tune or back to completely stock ecu?

It won't go back to either. Your Piggyback system will store the tune info into it's memory. If the ecu is reset at the dealership, the ecu will still have the TRD S/C Reflash on it - it won't wipe that out. Nothing will get erased.

ok thats what i was wondering not the piggyback losing the tune im talking about the ecu losing the trd reflash if i unhooked the piggyback and reset the ecu. so it would just go back to the trd reflash huh? and as soon as i would hook the piggyback back up and reset the ecu again it would run with the piggyback tune right? sounds like it could be pretty awesome.

Yeah nothing will reset completely. The Tuning software and tune on the piggyback will be set into the memory on it so you'll be good.

Where did you get these numbers from? Everyone I have seen has shown 190. You might see 200 on a dyno if its STD correction and not SAE.

i'll have a Greddy kit for sale pretty soon :) at 8psi, we put down 270WHP! i wouldn't say a s/c is safer.. its still forced intuction, and there is a thread on SL of a guy that thru a piston thru is block and he had a trd s/c... so bad shit can happen no matter what. i dont think the s/c is very cost efficient, but it all depends on your goals. everyone is different.
