So,

2dot4, my turbo as well has decided to give up the ghost,

although i have caught the problem way ahead of time, before it became a serious problem, i noticed my oil seal on the exhaust side of the turbo is leaking oil... only when i boost though.

i discovered this today after i was driving a few blocks away from my house.

dont ask me why it's slow, i blame my poor choice in choosing a shitty kit.

once i reached the next stoplight, i noticed a tiny bit of smoke coming from underneath my hood, i immediately pulled over and opened the hood, only to find the center of the turbo with very very light very small oil stains and the oil was burning which was causing the smoke.

so now here is the question, what turbo do i buy now and where can i get it at a not - so - expensive price.....

i cant spend 700 bucks on a turbo till my next check ,, so something in the 300 dollar range will have to do for now. until i buy a garett ...

any ideas ?

mainly because, before i bought my scion, i went and test drove an A4 and and A6 and i almost bought an A6 before signing anything i noticed a tc in the parking lot and asked to test drive it before going further with the A6 purchase.

that's my story.

yeah, take your turbo kit off until you can afford a decent turbo - otherwise you're wasting $300 on whatever shitty turbo you buy.

Going without boost for a short period of time is worth saving $300 IMO...especially when you're gonna spend $700+ down the road anyway.

What size flanges do you have for your turbo?

I agree with Eric, save your money to get the turbo you want.....

I also removed some parts from your story because we do not want "races" on the boards unless they are on the track....

Yeah... Check with Dezod - they can probably get you an Innovative turbo (Made by Garret so it'll last).

Well for now you can take it off and get new seals which would save you some money while you save for a good turbo

no matter what you do or what you think would b a god idea, dont waste money on a cheap turbo to buy time. Its the one thing we all do at some point and almost everyone agrees that it was a mistake. Just save up and get the one you want! Good luck man!!
