now i was thinking about doing this but cant decide which i should do. silver to match my car or smoked to match the tails? also the side blinkers will be smoked and same as for the 3rd brake light. what should i do for the front silver or smoked?

I would recommend getting the third brake light that lights up the full length of the light bar, But get the one that is already blacked out. But yes i think you should smoke your front head lights to. Go for it bro!! I think it will look great. Im going to be smoking mine soon to and getting the smoked third brake light from VRD.

Yea dont do the whole headlight .. i think thats a waste cuz once you get pulled over its time to get new heads cuz your stuck wit those being smoked. The eyelids i think would look great on your ride. Also if you get the VHT Nightshade stuff you could smoke your own third brake light instead of buyin the one already done. I did mine and it came out great.

yea i thought about doing it myself. i prob will. thats what i did for the tails. where did u get the vht stuff from?

its a toss up they would both look great i guess black would look good or maybe even a carbon fiber eye lid. i would go CF if it was me if my car was silver.
kris5597
04-01-2008, 11:12 PM
yea was thinking about CF myself but not my theme. i have no CF on my car and dont plan on it. so i think ima just do smoked to match the rest of the lights. cover up that chrome shit in the headlight with smoke. sounds good to me. thanks guys. anyone else have opinions?

I'd vote on painting your headlights black/dark gray .....just to cover the chrome part. But if you don't wanna bake em i'd say silver lids......

If you go with silver or black, PM me - I make vinyl graphics, and I can do those a HELL of a lot cheaper than $20. I don't charge $5.50 to mail something in an envelope either :icon_wacko:

really? i think i might go with silver. can someone photoshop silver on there and see how it looks. dont have it and dont know how to use it. and eric i might get u to make me two eyelids in silver how much would that cost? and also i wana put two TRD stickers on it. should i go with blue to match my lights or black so it would show up good on the silver car?
kris5597

Honestly... the taillights are a bit too dark for my tastes, but that's all you.. but yeah... get the Oznium TBL... Smoked... And I'd say Silver eyelids.

do Silver

04-02-2008, 02:13 PM
i like both colors, but since your went black in the rear, stay with the theme. i am a strong believer in keeping the same overlay theme. go all silver or all black, dont mix and match cuz that looks rice.

thats why i wanna do black eyelids thinks it will be sweet match because hopefully me and my friend will be baking and smoking my tails this weekend i hope...

baking tails? what for? are you taking them apart and painting inside?
i think overlays are easy and look great.
pwee08

yea painting them.. overlays gets bubbles and peels off over time so doesnt look that nice and you can tell the difference between vinyl or baked.. complete different look in my opinion...

yea u can tell the dif. if someone does a crappy job too. idk where to get the stuff from still in the search for it but its VHT nightshade thats what its called. i didnt get the stuff nor paint mine. had a friend do it for me. yea idk my tails are black they are just smoked. and to get the front to look like the back i would have to smoked them. if i did a black eyelids the front would be darker than the back so its an idk. silver looks aight. so yet i set here confused on what to do lol. now i can get some dark overlays and see how that works out but they gotta match the back so yet again idk. lol. confusing. im getting overlays for the 3rd brake light and side blinkers. not gonna paint those because i only have one set. had an extra pair of tails thats why one is painted and one is not. id like to be able to put the car back stock. ya know what i mean. just for emergency purposes. like to keep all old parts. so prob just gonna get dark overlays for eyelids. so good? keep all smoked all around. OK!?!?!

do it, i have smoked overlays all around, and you can hardly tell they are overlays, well until you look for edges from real close, which no one hardly does, got plenty of compliments.
just take your time, cuz bubbles and creases make for a shitty outcome, but if done correctly, can hardly be distinguished, not to mention can be peeled off if need be.

well thinking about it putting the overlays probably a first thing i should do see how they come out with me putting them on if not just take em off and then paint them... and yea it would be a smart way to put the car back to the stock look... thanks guys

in my experience, it looks best when you match the eyelids to the paint - it gives a more subtle change. And it makes more sense to me to match the headlights to the paint rather than to your taillights.
I personally like the silver a lot.
kris5597
04-02-2008, 09:38 PM
yea i like em both. just hard to decide. how much would u charge to make and mail silver ones Eric? and also the black VVT-I DOHC thing?
Sciko_06tc

I agree with staying with the "smoked theme", but the front eyelids I think look better when they match the color of the car.

$7 for eyelids
$5 for a pair of DOHC VVT-i decals

Kris, the ideal thing to do would be bake open your headlights and vht the actual chrome piece. They would match for sure then. However, that means baking them open and would take some time.
Other alternative would be to buy a set of headlights from the spec tC's. No chrome in them, the regular chrome pieces are all black. Think they run like $300 for a set though.
kris5597
04-03-2008, 09:54 AM
yea but dont wana back them lol. too much to worry about. im good lol. and buying the specs are too expensive. if ima get new headlights ima get halos or something of that sort then i wont care about the chrome piece.
