kris5597
06-05-2008, 11:35 AM
what happens when u rewire the low beam harness?

iheartzombies
06-05-2008, 11:37 AM
I'm changing the 08/09 headlights for 07's so I gotta wire up a 9006 harness since the new headlights take H11 lowbeams.

Armed Salad
06-05-2008, 12:17 PM
ummm....soo....whatcha doing with the tails.....

iheartzombies
06-05-2008, 01:43 PM
08 tails? for sale!!! You want em? Cheap.

iheartzombies
06-05-2008, 05:45 PM
Just got back from the notary. xB is officially sold and gets finalized tomorrow morning then I get my check.

I should have 08 tails, headlights, and grilles for sale soon.

Vanessa has dibs on headlights though.

Armed Salad
06-06-2008, 10:56 AM
'08 headlights don't fit the older models, or so Ron told me. I WANT the tails though.

iheartzombies
06-06-2008, 11:12 AM
They fit. The lowbeams are different, but all tC headlights are interchangeable.

Tails are yours man, just make an offer.

triflin

Tails are yours man, just make an offer.

 Don't tell Magoo anything about making offers on tails, lol!

But yeah, they should fit, only thing that was changed was the insides of the lights.

iheartzombies
06-06-2008, 04:37 PM
Lol

The only thing I'm worried about is splicing and soldering the 9006 harnesses. I never done anything like that before, but I'm sure I can handle it. I'm gonna shrinktube it all after.

Well, I just so happened to be at my friends shop when a guy with a tC wanted his headlights changed out to the projectors. My homeboy figured that since I work on my "Scion" that this "Scion" wouldn't be any different. Yeah, whatever!!! There's really not that much difference except the tC's bumper is screwed down in a few more places than on the xB. It just took a little while to find those few places but the hardest part was getting it back on with the new HL in and making it fit flush. Not to mention that the HL had to be forced in because of those braces that run over the top of them.

iheartzombies
06-07-2008, 10:14 PM
Yeah I should be good

I got all these diys so I'm prepared LOL.

Front Bumper Removal (http://www.club-tc.com/forums/exterior/254-front-bumper-removal.html)

Rear Bumper and Tail Light Removal (http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=193907&highlight=tail+harness)

Hardest thing gonna be coilovers, but I do have my own air tools now, and the coilovers I have already have stock tC top hats so all I have to do is a direct switch which is cool.

I have a few other goodies I'll be getting as well very soon, when the damn stimulus check decides to get here. Clazzio leather/suede seats, black VRD grilles, S2K antenna, and the megan oe rs axleback. After all that nonsense I just need some wheels, but I'm undecided on the wheels right now. I want something name brand like works or volks and flush as hell.

iheartzombies
06-29-2008, 07:22 PM
^ I know I know lol, but this weather I tell yah... I would have gotten electrocuted.

Luckily I finished today right before it started raining. Overall this was hella easy. I freaked out at first because I wired it up and it didn't work, I thought I was F'ed.

Turns out I just popped a fuse :oopsp:

Like a dummy I didn't disconnect the battery before wiring stuff. I'm lucky I didn't mess anything up bad, and yes I'm an idiot so don't forget to disconnect that battery!

After I fixed that, everything was smooth sailing. Hardest part was that stupid undercarriage thing I had to line up after putting the bumper on.

So let me quit yapping and present my tC, finally!!!

During the install

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v325/curetonixon/tc001.jpg

All done!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v325/curetonixon/tc011.jpg

And my shift knob I got in today.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v325/curetonixon/tc009.jpg

I'm really glad I did this, I love the look of the older headlights.

I know I need a drop too, the Tein Basics are going on real soon, and then another photoshoot. Also waiting on a shorty antenna from good ol Ryan!

iheartzombies
07-16-2008, 11:02 PM
No

I swear I'm dying to. I've been so caught up with crap. I gotta go schedule for school tomorrow, and this weekend is batman with the girlfriend on saturday. I'll have time Friday so maybe I can knock it out then :p

If not I might just go to Cory Sunday... if he is available and willing.

I was parked at the mall today, and turned around and looked at it and said to myself, "Man it's going to look 10x better once it's slammed."

Made myself sad.

07-17-2008, 11:51 AM
Nah I'm goin see BATMAN!!!

It's coo Cory... I'm gonna try to get it all done friday. Did Lei's tC have the factory sub in the back? If it did was it hard to get around it to do the spring install or does it get in the way?

triflin

She has the one in the floor, and you have to take it out. Not hard to do.

triflin
07-19-2008, 09:31 PM
Yeah, you're deff gonna do that, lol! You'll be the second person I know that's tuckin stock wheels, haha! Didn't you buy them used though? They're prob settled already.

Don't think he spent all day. I remember him saying that he was going see Dark Knight.

Devin, do you wanna bring it to my house tomorrow?

iheartzombies
07-19-2008, 11:23 PM
Yeah we started at 6PM. I was done around 7:30 and it looked cloudy so I decided tp [ick it all up and start back at it tomorrow. Since I got one side done the other side will be a breeze, and the fronts are just like the old xB's so I know I can do those.

I got them used for 580, but they had like 1000 miles on them, and whoever had them before be had the perches way up to like a TRD Drop.

Cory I would like to take it to your house, but.. well you will see in the pics lol.

I only have three pics and they are kinda crappy cause they are cell phone pics:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v325/curetonixon/PIC-0032.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v325/curetonixon/PIC-0033.jpg

See the gangster lean? I'm scared to drive it anywhere LOL. Plus I didn't torque the bolts, do I need to or is tightening with a cheater bar enough?

The pics were taken when I had the perches about a half inch up, after the pics I lowered it all the way down because... well why not? My rear camber is pretty bad but not horrible. I'm hoping and alignment can get me within -1 or -2

Its gonna look great Dev. Great job on getting it half done so quick. Everyones gonna come to u for help now, lol.

iheartzombies
07-19-2008, 11:37 PM
Thanks Lei! I was kinda surprised at how easy it was, I was expecting to have trouble but it wasn't bad at all! Like 6 bolts once the tire is off and bam all done.

I did use a guide printed from clubtc.com, it helped a lot. And I also used hand tools which sucked, my muscles are aching. I ran into a few issues, but then worked it out by not being stupid and using an extender on the wrench so the cheater bar would fit.

I'd love to help someone do theirs, I honestly love doing this crap, but not alone. My girlfriend was a big help, even though she only grabbed me tools when I needed them.

triflin
07-20-2008, 07:16 AM
Yeah, it's deff a 2 person job when you going back in with them. It's not really "hard", just time consuming cuz of all the stuff you gotta get out of the way to get to 6 damn nuts.

Looks good so far though, can't wait to see it slammed.

I never torqued any bolts on any of them that I did. I know how much of a bitch they are to take off, and I just put it back on with that amount of force. Besides, I tell everyone to check them like every oil change or so anyway, and yes, I do check my bolts every so often.

Thanks guys. I'm about to go get started on the rest and hopefully I can get some pictures in, looks like it might rain today.

Yeah John I remember that crap, it was so overwhelming back then.

I think the next thing I want is an axleback. I wanted the megan oe rs but I'm still not sure, the magnaflow is looking nice too.

:robot:Got them coilovers finished yet Dev? I wanna see how low you can go!! And as far as everyday riding, what you gonna leave em on? Stock height or full tuck?

iheartzombies
07-20-2008, 08:22 PM
I just finished up the back, tomorrow I'm gonna tackle the front.

The back is maxed out and it's juuuust tucking tire. I'm gonna set the front around the same for a nice no wheel gap look. Not too low, but lower than any spring drop. I love it, it looks tight. After I get the front done I'm gonna go on a test drive, but I'm sure it will be bumpier.

I would have pics but it's dark now. The side I did last night is a tad lower then the one I just finished, so I'm hoping the side I did today will settle to the same height.

Hahaha

I got my passenger side done today. The directions I had said the bolts holding the strut to a drum were 21mm, and I didn't have one so I had to make a Sears run. Well I get home and turns out I need a god damn 22mm :fu:

I ended up borrowing my neighbors 22 and by the time I was done it was dark. I'm going to go buy a 22 tomorrow and then finish it up. Looks good though, cept that one side.

Looks like my car is peeing

iheartzombies
07-21-2008, 08:37 PM
Man, you know three guides I found all say a fucking 21mm?

THe only guide that said 22mm, and was correct, was the yoursciontc.com one.

Ridunkulous mane.

Oh and one quick question someone please answer for me. Does it matter which way the top hat with the three bolts goes in there? I saw a blue mark, and I just put the side with the blue mark toward the front. But I noticed on the stock shock the blue mark was pointing to the left. I don't think it matters, but I wanna make sure.

gotDAMD
07-21-2008, 08:45 PM
Never really noticed but its only going to fit one way. The two studs in the back one in the front.

Oh I just realized you were talking about the front weren't you.

iheartzombies
07-21-2008, 08:46 PM
Ah, alright. Then I should be good then. Tomorrow I'll finally be done. Then it's off to Sears for an alignment in a week.

triflin
07-21-2008, 09:33 PM
Yeah, don't think the top hat matters. You need to hurry up, lol!
I think you got Tony's record beat, lol!

Let me know how much Sears charges you, I need to get one done on both the Scions.

iheartzombies
07-21-2008, 10:18 PM
Haha yeah. This will be like 5 days it took me to do it.

Sears charged I think 60-70 plus tax on my xB for a four wheel alignment with printouts. I had went to goodyear before but they couldn't get my car on the rack.

I'm gonna call our local tire rack too, cause I wanna see if they offer the "alignments for life" deal or something.

Thanks man! Do coils! Do work!

The ride is surprisingly not that bad, I actually like it. It's more "bouncy" than stock but I like that.

Just keep a look out on eBay. I got my coils for 580 shipped used but in great condition

Once these blow out, I'm hoping an air suspension is available for the tC cause I'm gonna go with that.

I'm gonna get some good side shots tomorrow, if it doesn't rain again!
