So I've been mulling this over for some time now. I had all but decided to buy the Borla exhaust for my tC ('09), I was over on Borla's site today and considering actually buying the thing and something made me check up on the TRD exhaust from Sparks. Now I have a problem.

Sparks lists the following:

TRD Exhaust: $364

Borla Exhaust (with a new air filter thrown in): $392

The Borla exhaust form sparks looks to be different from the one on Borla's site, they are looking for $594

So I'm putting out there to all of you; is there a difference in the Borla systems? Should I spend almost double at Borla directly or should I just go for the TRD?

I have the TRD, it sounds good. Not too loud(old car was straight pipe from header to fart can). I wouldn't pay the price for a borla. For 600$ you can get a turbo/header back from Dezod.

That's what I decided to go with. I couldn't argue with that price difference. I should be gettin it today if FedEx would drop the dang thing off. I've been pushing off my lunch so I can to the local Kinkos to pick it up.

I thought the TRD exhaust was a rebadged Borla unit. I know that was the case on the older tC's at least.

I would be completely willing to believe that, I'm fairly certain the TRD CAI is a re-badged AEM unit, or maybe Injen. I think it was one of those though.

So now, thanks to FexEx's incompetence I might not get my hands on that exhaust until Saturday.

I said I would throw up some pictures once I got it all installed so here they are...

There she is all nice and new and polished....man is that a big freaking box, it just barely fit into the back of the tC.

And there she is under the car. So it's been like a week and I gotta say I love this thing so happy I went with it. I like the fact that it is one solid welded piece. All the welds are great; fit and finish all around are awesome as you would expect from TRD. The sound is good and it makes a fair about or racket when you're really on the gas. In a neighborhood diving around slowly it quiets down nicely so you don't disturb anyone. Anyone looking to do this a quick mod I would highly recommend the TRD Sport Exhaust. Oh and one last thought, if you're having trouble getting the hangers off (you'll notice in the supplied paperwork they say there is a tool to remove them) grab a pipe wrench. It worked wonders.
