Either fine a live fuse and add a fuse circuit (buy it from autozone or checker)
Or just run a new line off the battery, and fuse it. and add a switch to it.

we tryed that but when i put the screws in to put back in to the head liner it grounded and the leds did not work but the dome light did. that is why i'm asking for help from my brothers/sisters here to find out what fuse on the internal block has constant power to put in a fuse thing from autozone somebody told me fuse #27 but i want to make sure. what i'm looking for is at a night show/parking lot i can turn on the led's and walk away from the car with the keys in pocket and not have to worry about the car leaving with out me
and thanks for the repleys keep them coming

i used a fused tap that i picked up at the auto parts store
http://www.autotoys.com/pics/fusetapfusedmini.jpg
and it allows you to replace a fuse in the fuse box and run a hot wire off it. i think i tapped into one of the lights either the head or tailights i don't remember which. hope that helps

Yes and no ...u can use a test light on newer cars...You just have to know when and where u can use them...they are a good tool and i use them alot on newer cars..so if ur not familiar with the test light please dont try it..."never" is not a good word in the automotive field man!!!!

Sorry man, I don't buy it. I do not want to hi-jack the thread, but when dealing with do it yourselfers, I say never. Yea, if you are a pro, maybe, but you would not be working in my shop if you had a test light. sooner or later, you are gonna get in trouble. In my 25 years of installing, i have seen it all. so never is in my vocabulary.

Did you hook both the hot and ground to the dome connection? if not, that's why your dome light works, but not the LED's
